Former #25 Jake Stringer (Part 2)

Is this sarcasm?

Seems pretty minor, did this need to be a headline? I can understand why the club don’t put out more comprehensive injury reports during pre season, the media go big for clicks and then we start fighting on blitz about whether Jake is worth having on the list.

It could be minor but there is a long history there. It’s not good and I can understand why some think it’s very bad

Off season is far too long for some people.

This was right infront of me. Was 5 rows back, so good!

we hope - but come on, our medical team and jake dont exactly have a great track record lately do they. whats the saying, once bitten twice shy? or is it three, four or five times…

I remember when we recruited him he was coming off a really bad broken leg.

I have a recollection of some medical expert saying that the leg break was so bad it was going to effect his running gait (which it did) and that would likely mean he would suffer increasing rates of hamstring, groin and back injuries for the rest of his career.

Spoiler - he was spot on

The forward structure will be a little thin if we lose Stringer. If TMP is out at anytime and no Stringer we have very little up forward.
With Jones Cox and Stewart being so fragile there is little else. From what I hear from Melbourne supporters Weideman is a very risky option.

10kg overweight

You know… some players are accident prone, carry persistent injuries, or just unlucky. Sometimes this has to do with injury/health management, sometimes due to the players actions, genetics or fortune, sometimes combinations of some or all of these. Taking a shortcut of logic and bypassing everything in between, without any real data… is kinda… silly. To put it nicely.

Replace the word players with clubs!

He broke his leg in his draft year playing for Bendigo Pioneers.

I just tried that and it didn’t actually make grammatical sense.

This just shouldn’t happen.

Either you’re weight is under control or you’re not ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  playing. I hope Scott is ripping him a new one .

I’m no Cornes fan, but his take on Stringer is hard to argue with.

Hard not to agree with this

Scott said yesterday that Stringer has been battling groin soreness for over a year, and they’re happy to rest him at the expense of his conditioning, to help him recover. Cornes would know this. He literally makes a career out of triggering people.

Yes and no.

Jake is someone who’s always going to put on weight easily and as blitz has known since this time last year, Jake has been battling OP.

So does kind of make it tough for him to rock up in ripping nick.

Bullshit, he is a professional athlete, it is his contractual obligation to remain fit and in shape to play AFL football.

Correct - he’s a disgrace
