Former #26 Kaine Baldwin

The fact he’s reportedly training with us already, I’d say they’re probably going down that route. I’m okay with it to be honest.

Would be easier if Lav did find a new home but is what it is. Worst case he’s playable (Lav) if we must, but hope that isn’t required.

Ridley is the interesting one. He can play smaller, so you could see Baldwin coming in to allow Ridley to cover both talls and smalls.

Keep in my book. Would have been a regular this year had he been fit. Better than Lav, who’ll be gone this time next year and with the uncertainty over Reid and Hayes, I think he’s a must.

Never thought he should have been delisted.

He got delisted because of his body, he now has to get through the summer to get the list spot. If the foot goes again then no point listing him. Good list/risk management

Laverde same draft/age as Langford. When people say he’ll be gone next year i’m assuming delisted or traded for points pick? I’d like to see another year with McKay taking the big forwards and a better mix in general. Think he gives it everything. Was a pretty exciting lead up forward with the worst yips I’ve ever seen, not saying he’s another Hooker but wouldn’t hate it if Scott swung him up there every now and then either

He has had one long term injury since he joined us and we cut him. Bad decision IMO.

Can’t ignore injury history for a start. But he hurt his foot in Feb then again later in the year. What if he hurts it again in December or Jan this year? This is a bad injury for a footballer. Rather play it safe than carry him for another year

He could barely mark the ball

Not my recollection but ok

He’s been on the list half the time Reid has and played the same amount of games. We seem to be ignoring Reid’s history while punishing Kaine for being injury prone.

Laverde turns about as fast as a cruise ship you can’t have someone like that in the forward line now days when it’s all about pressure and locking the ball in

They’ve essentially been on the list the same number of years (Reid ND 2020, Baldwin SSP early 2021). Not sure where you got that from.

If Reid got cut tomorrow 10 plus clubs come calling.

Baldwin got cut and makes it through 3 draft.

I like Baldwin, just think this was the right move

One has greater upside and a contract, just the way it is.

The assumption is Reid has upside, but who knows, he’s essentially a rookie in year 5.

10 plus clubs would be taking a stab in the dark that he will actually become a player and not a Gumbleton.

Yeah that’s why he was a top ten pick, based on what he could be.

Ok, half was an embellishment, by I stand by my point, Reid is getting a pass because he was a top ten selection yet we haven’t seen either player have a healthy run at it.

Reid will be in the same boat if he has another bad run with injury we can’t nurse these guys forever
