But how does Stewart’s form justify it if the coaches (Apparently) accept that form without turning to Zerk? Perhaps as of tomorrow’s selection they won’t.
Same as all players.
He’s a better mark than Stewart, younger, better in one-on-ones and he has clearly known the limitations on his kicking since his first season.
He should have played 10-20 more senior games than he has and I would absolutely prefer to see him in our backline over Stewart.

I don’t think his disposal is that bad but I think his indecisiveness at times forces him into rushing his kick.

I don’t think the selectors consider Zerk and Stewart as going for the same position based on the above height and weight stats.
I honestly think that the only replacement for Stewart on our list is Reid.
It’s interesting, as isn’t the only reason we are seeing Stewart in defence because the coaches put a line through Zerk-Thatcher in 2020? (Not saying that was the right decision)
He was given a pretty solid run of games in 2020 and then for the last round Rutten decided to try Lav and Stewart in defence
Bring form last couple weeks warrants a go at building in the seniors, he can improve and has upside
In his senior appearances last year held his own, not disappointing at all.

Yeah, he totally touched up Hawkins in a preseason game and was promptly sent back to the vfl iirc only to be forgotten until later in the year by which stage we were a complete rabble iirc.
We manage our kids terribly. Zac Clark over Draper is another classic example. Parish languishing in the forward line. We’re now doing it with ham ahead of Tex. It’s the Essington way.
I wonder if the Gumby experience has scarred the club.

I don’t mind wing Cox or wing Lang but Lang has been moved around all over the place and never really settled. The Ridley to the middle move was as big a shocker as the street debacle as was lav forward it would now seem

I’ve never understood this argument. Giving away height, giving away weight etc.
Why do people overlook a player being either out of form or just not capable at AFL level if they’re big enough?
Zerk definitely gets more chicks.

I’m not a BZT hater, but he will get monstered against the better KPF’s. Stuz had a brain fart on the weekend, but that is not why we lost. We lost because our forwards and mids didn’t kick straight.
Anyone that thinks BZT is a better option than Stuz at this point in time is kidding themselves. If we are throwing out the baby with the bathwater, then sure play BZT because he is younger.
