Former #39 Patrick Voss - false messiah

Who played harder than most of our AFL squad.

Im not disagreeing with that. I just think the moment has passed for him unfortunately.

Given our lack of any tall forwards who are good, id be staggered if we delisted him.

I like the idea of voss, langford and 2MP

our forward line is missing someone who will consistently crash packs.
Between Langford and Wright we have the goals covered from taller players, we just dont have someone will constantly provide a massive effort because neither of them are that sort of physical player.
If Voss can become that guy and kick 25-30 goals a year he will have a spot in our side for the next 5-10 years.

VOSS: Peter get out of my way, you can play CHF, ruck support and kick goals from 70.

Dermott post game: Brad where have you been hiding this bloke. I like the cut of his jib.

Voss is the perfect Stringer replacement. Well worth a go for the last few games.

It would be fun seeing him have a run in the middle too. Will create havoc around the forward stoppages.

Just play him. Still remember a young vander playing in the 2s. Sheeds threw him to the wolves and he never looked back. Voss can have the same impact. Just needs the chance.

I’d love to see him get a go, not just for this week, but for the rest of the season.
I don’t think he will have much, if any, impact - maybe 6 possessions and lots of competing, but he needs to get a start and get the chance to make the transition, and not be judged on how he goes straight away. He’s not that sort of player who’s going to rip it up straight away, but he might make a gradual transition into a good player.

I think he’ll play this week too. Stringer was always the roadblock for Voss.

I think Stringer might be proper cooked for this season too.

One thing about voss though he isn’t great in the air so he isn’t one you kick the long bomb to and hope he brings the ball to ground, he is more the lead up forward that is good at ground level.

He does tackle with intent for grievous bodily harm though, which we lack.

Two grabs the mark on the lead too

If he’s replacing Stringer then he’s like for like because Stringer is no good in the air as well

Which is why he hasn’t been given a run as a true tall forward

Van der Haar was runner up in the B&F in his first year at the club, four years before Sheedy coached us.

Stringer is averaging only 2.6 marks per game this season. Any aerial ability he had has completely disappeared.

Just play him you plebs.

Paul Van der Haar. What a champion Bomber CHF he was. Fearless … exciting and good footballer. Kicked goals too.

I really hope Paddy Voss gets his chance this weekend.
