Former #39 Patrick Voss - false messiah

It’ll be like a horror mooooovie.

People are losing their minds over jobbers like Mass and Voss. Imagine if we had Martin train with us and didn’t sign him. Oh boy.

Ok, Mass isn’t a jobber, but he’s not worth losing sleep over. Same with Voss.

So you would prefer Jones over mass on the wing?

I’d prefer Straw Man on the wing.

Clarke will be better than Mass, I’d rather he be in the team, or Johnson.

Have SBS brought world movies back on a Thursday night?

We did have that.

Remember we passed on Barlow and chose Hardingham.

Freo’s Luke Ryan right under our noses to in VFL and we cut him from the VFL list  .

Yeah but did Barlow ever kick 4 goals on debut against North? Huh?

That’s actually a good call, I’d forgotten all about that.

Mass and Voss are no great loss, happy to have let them go. Neither would’ve thrived in our current setup as we are developing younger players. Caddy is already better than Voss and Duurs, Clarke, Martin Roberts and Johnson will all be equal to or better than Mass.

And I reckon Roberts is better than Mass.

Voss is a frustrating one bc he has mongrel and he’s physical. Now we pray May grows into the player we hope and dampens the frustration.

Clarke has had one good game so far in his first game where a lot of debutants do well coz nobody gives them any attention. Not saying he won’t be a decent player he might be, but stating someone will be a better player than a guy that was the number 1 rated winger in the afl across last season is some good Essendon goggles.

Yeah, those same googles have watch Mass play this year as well. I’m comfortable with that call.

statistically he’s not this year.
He is younger than and likely higher ceiling and has a lot of filling out to do.
Caddy had a cracker of a game against Sydney and was good against Pies and North, but overall he hasn’t improved a lot stats wise on last year.

Clarke has a lot of attributes you need from a winger. - Big engine, good size, footy smarts. All Massimo has is kicking. And even he has been moved about with Mitchell playing him off half back

I don’t like Clarke playing at half back, would rather he gets back to the wing where he can use his weapons more - push back and push forward hard. I would tip Clarke to have the better overall career from here.

Caddy has been playing as our number 1 forward (being only 19 years old) and attracting the best defender at times this year. Voss has Amiss, Treacy and Jackson who would all command the top defenders each week. There’s no comparison in my mind.

All the hawks players have dropped off this year they showed the drop off on Foxtel. He’s a known quantity at afl level that has produced one superb season last year, Clarke has done nothing at all yet. Its like saying a top 5 pick will have a better career than an all Australian coz he has a better athletic profile. There’s a big difference between showing some talent and actually producing high quality seasons in the big time.

I’ll stick with Clarke. Cheers.

Who is going to be the better winger?
  • Clarke
  • D’Ambrosio
  • El-Hawli
  • Lual

I see your thoughtful analysis is limited to ‘the vibe’.

I think when there is a general view the kid should be getting games, don’t, then leave, the team’s fans have a problem. Similarly they have a view when they feel the player betrayed them in some way by/when leaving.
