How much heights does wright have over Voss?
Someone of wrights size, contested marking should be his bread and butter. Buts it’s his biggest weakness.
I dare say Voss isn’t in the side for his contested marking
The amount the ball is kicked to him, you would hope he leads the club in contested marking
We also don’t have a lot of other decent contested markers in the team
I don’t think too many see wright play and consider him a strong contested mark to be fair
So then why sh*t on the only guy in the team that seems to be able to do it? It’s very weird.

Assuming Voss needed to come off the rookie list when he was axed right? Given we’d already tried to turn Weid into a defender, who do we cut? Maybe still let Weid go; cut Hunter a year early and find a key back to rookie?
I was responding to cjohns who was comparing Voss and wright and their stats
for wrights size and height he should be a much better contested mark than he is. I feel the same about Draper too fwiw

Wright is fine. He just hasn’t produced the output we want from our #1 forward. Not really his fault when others have tended to be injured, or young, or whatever.
Voss has over performed for his role this year.
Comparing them doesn’t really make a lot of sense, except that one has over performed expectations and one has underperformed due to a bunch of other factors.
Tbh I doubt Voss works in our side as currently constructed. But also his delisting because we couldn’t work out how to manage him can also be seen as a negative against the club’s list management and people management/development program

Not sure. He was 2 years in and players were allowed 3 with covid etc, so not entirely sure.
We certainly did a good job in the draft that year by the looks of it, but the answer if required is “not sign Gresham”

I don’t mind Wright but he is frustrating because he gets to so many marking contests and is so close to marking but just doesn’t. I also think his contested marking stats are misleading as a lot of them are on a lead around the 50, where a big guy like him should be marking more crash and bash style or just using his height advantage. But he is what he is and very serviceable for what we paid.
There are rumours flying around that Vossy is just a bachelor, looking for a partner.
Voss is a footballer’s footballer. Rough around the edges, and plays like his life depends on it. Celebrates like a tool too and loves it. Exactly what we need. And thats why I hope Draper stays. The club is so sterile.

Lawry has intimated that there was some very bad behaviour, that he knows more than he can let on. Which I would take with a micro grain of Home Brand salt

Wright doesn’t have several excellent forwards along side him, it’s not his first year in a strange team and new system, and he has been our bomb and hope 8 foot tall go to for most of the season. He’s okay, but he’s not the future, barely the present

Voss is the type that all sides competing at the pointy end have - aggressive, robust and someone that makes their teammates walk taller. We have nobody like this and when Brad was talking about the essendon edge, pretty staggering he never got a chance.
The way he just dispensed opposition players yesterday swatting theM away was great, could he have played the Barnard role?

Personally, I just don’t see any point in downplaying what he’s doing, it was unequivocally a very bad error by our club. Same with Massimo and for any doubters just talk to Paul Cousins.
