It really beggars belief when Weideman and Jones are 2 of the worst F50 targets in the AFL in terms of ball retention when they are the target of an I50 kick, and yet we’ve got a bloke bang in form in the VFL, demanding selection via good performance, and it appears he’s been snubbed again. It’s so deflating. Voss is the type of kid we need in the team. A real competitor, someone if you told him to run and jump at the footy, fly for your marks and minimum create a contest for the smalls to get around, he will do it.

Not saying it will happen tonight but fully expecting the newsreaders/presenters etc when announcing he is debuting to make the eye roll comparison with Michael Voss…

Still not even an emergency. Does Brad hate him, or have they decided there’s no chance he’s playing, at least for the first half of the year or so.

I think it’s to do with the lack of contested marking/bringing ball to ground in the contest
All of his goals are coming in general play or on lead in space, which won’t get much of
Intercept marking is a big deal at AFL level, I can only assume they are putting the priority on that aspect. If Voss played he’d be #1 fwd at times when Weid went into ruck
I think he should have been given a go still. Not emergency even is odd.
In any case just keep slotting them Vossy. Time will come.

The main issue with this is he’s still doing both those things better than our key forwards in the AFL.
Sure, he’s not against the same quality of defender, but not even giving him the carrot of being an emergency after topping the VFL for goals over the opening rounds is bizarre
