Former #39 Patrick Voss - false messiah

You said it best here.

They can’t debut him in Adelaide.

Looks like Anzac Day debut it is.

Correct.
That’s his strength. People expecting him to pack mark are going to be disappointed when he doesn’t show that at AFL level.
The question marks would be how he fits in and whether he is vocal with our other forwards. Can he repeat lead even if it isn’t honoured to play a particular role?
Is his speed off the mark good enough to get the separation on his opponent. He’s shown he can do it at VFL level.
We’re not sure if that strength will replicate at the high level.
We won’t know until we play him. Which is kind of why I thought he should play. It’ll answer a lot of questions of how far away he is from senior footy.

He needs to physically bash the door down in Scotts office.

He wasn’t taken early enough in the draft to be noticed.

A guy who just got elevated to the senior list isn’t going to run away to another club because he didn’t get picked for round 4 of the season. Keep in mind he is still only 19.

He will tear it up for some other club that has a clue

Dial up the outrage please

Essendon VFL?

Keillor under 13s has more of a clue.

To play in the Bombers forwardline apparently you need to be non-physical and be able to cover about 12 km doing off-the-ball things. Crash packs and kick goals ? Pfft ! Who needs that ?

The 12 km, running around in circles.

Or something we are seeing that the coaches aren’t…

Well… Scott Cummings had to kick 25 goals in 3 weeks before Sheedy picked him (before deciding he’d tutn him into a CHB)… so I s’pose Voss needs to kick 12 or so this week…

I also wanted him in this week.

That said it is also possible that the coaches have a timeline and process for this kid that we know nothing about and that, as Scott has said a few times, they will not be rushing things as they take the longer approach to development (in his case) and injury recovery (in others cases).

Fark me Harry Jones is rewarded for kicking one goal in 3 games.

This reminds me of when Draper wasn’t getting a game ahead of Zac Freaking Clarke!
