Former #39 Patrick Voss - false messiah

Houli beat me to it but they will possibly provide better balance.

This guy is more Taylor Walker than Taylor Walker

He is bigger than Riewoldt, and taller than May. A KPP can be between 192-ish to 200ish, any taller than that are usually rucks. Voss is a KPP.

Yep tall enough, because he has a big frame behind him.

Patrick VOSS 194cm
Tex Walker 194cm
Charlie Curnow 194cm

Nick Reiwoldt 193cm
Jack Gunston 193cm
Gary Lyon 193cm
Jacob Van Rooyen 193cm (kicked 3 on debut)

Wayne Carey 192cm
Billy Brownless 192cm
Adam Goodes 191cm
David Neitz 191cm
Tony Lockett 191cm

Sam Newnham 190cm
Allan Jackovich 187cm

ruckmen were the tallest (average 201.4cm), followed by the defenders, then forwards and the shortest were the midfielders (average 184.4cm)

Any ideas what the things he needs to work on Brad was talking about?

He can’t get a game because he has failed to demonstrate that he will get more games after that first one.

The above is only slightly paraphrasing what was (apparently) said.

Thanks for posting that. They are excellent comparisons.

If i took a guess

Body positioning in marking contests. Using his strength to create better marking oppurtunuties

Working higher up the ground but having work rate to then work back to forward line to provide options- saying this he has improved this area a lot.

Using aggression to benefit team and not get caught up in opponent- silly free kicks

I think you can get a bit out of the quote from Tudor that the things they want Voss to work on is his work rate to get to more contests and stay in the game defensively.

Pat Voss

11 disposals, six marks, one goal

‘Vossy’ got into a lot of contests on the day which is what we wanted to see. He competed well and got some good opportunities to score for us. His goal-kicking was off a little bit, but I really liked the way he competed. Defensively, he played the way we wanted our forwards to defend with a couple of intercepts and tackles.

Be interesting if fatigue due to getting to more contests was a reason his goal kicking was off.

Most of the guys you have compared him to played in a different era.

There are a lot mids now taller than most of those forwards.

Bit of a Jono Brown strut about him.
