He’s a big lad for such a young age.

Hype train derailed by the looks of this thread!

You’d have to think he plays a pretty big part in the back half of the year with jones out

How many times has this guy been an emergency now ?

it’s the anti heppell thread. we know no matter what he won’t get a game, so there’s no point even really discussing him anymore.

if he’s not delisted at seasons end, he should probably walk to a club that will at least think about giving him a shot.

Hang in there Vossy.
Your time will come

Or he can just work on whatever they’ve asked him to until he gets selected.

Not sure his form warrants conversation around selection any more. Goals have dried up and doesn’t seem to bet getting much more of it by roaming

Excellent work Essendon, another player’s confidence has been killed.

He’s been selected as an emergency a few times now so they must think he is ready to go.

Playing a different role now.
A lot of kicks to him were caught in the wind and went over his head last week.
Still brought the intensity with 6 tackles.
And kicked a nice goal late.

They could select him if wanted to - assume Langford goes to defence, really need another tall in the forwardline, especially if we want to use Stringer in the guts.

I just hope this Phillips experiment ends, hes only good for 3 weeks then needs a spell, good opportunity to throw VOSS in and have Weideman backup ruck.

There must be a reason he’s being held back, and with a slight tweak in his role, they must be trying to implement something into his game before debuting him.

He was kicking too many goals. They are tweaking it so he doesn’t do that any more. Can’t go into the Essendon forward line and kick goals.

general consensus was he doesn’t do enough off the ball, presumably to do with running patterns, working up the ground etc

if it’s something he needs to fix to be an AFL standard forward I don’t see it as an issue - he’s not going to forget how to kick snags and cave in skulls

He’s ready.

The hype was excessive. He’s now getting opposition attention, a credit to him and proof of his development. However challenge for him to now influence and find ball despite attention. Also, is his fitness and aerobic ability at AFL standard? Needs to be to deliver his role in defensive mechanism.

Scott seems determined to only have one key forward, with Langford popping in there as the second tall when we feel like being competitive. Plus we’ve got our second ruck who kicked some goals that one time a month ago.

It’s not the setup I was expecting with Scott as coach, but here we are.

Still think with Langford likely playing back, this was the week for Voss.
