Actually met Xavier last night at a local pub and had a good 20min chat. He confirmed Jobe was legit not confirmed until 1min before he tweeted that pic of his dog. Did open up about a few other things which I'll keep private, but I tell you one thing; we are very lucky to have a CEO like him that cares about our club as much as him. We both were nearly in tears talking about this year. Melbourne confirmed for Rd 1 too peeps. Get excited!

Saw Gumby at the VFL finals the other week. I think he played in the country league before his ban didn’t he?

There is nothing sinister in Hird not speaking to the players. Hird wanted to coach Essendon to glory. He was tracking well too. Hird had a real bond with the players like very few coaches had before him. Hird wants to move on with his life too. He's moved overseas (I think) and I believe he's also sold his share of Gemba. The poor guy has lost everything outside his family.
I’m not surprised that he doesn’t have contact with the players or anyone related to AFL footy.

Hird still in Melbourne I saw him in Chapel street last week

I would’ve gone up to him and hugged him circa Round 3, 2004.

Saw Gumby at the VFL finals the other week. I think he played in the country league before his ban didn’t he?

Gumby was signed to play with Banyule in NFL division 3 before the ban hammer dropped.
