Former #40 Will “Snello” Snelling

We have picked up a midfielder who is 175 cms. I’m tired of them constantly choosing small mids. They never change. Maybe he is the best available at this time, so I should cut them a bit of slack. But it does continue their pattern

So we went in looking for a ruckman and came out with a 175cm mid…?

Well, I hope he goes well. Good luck young fella!

Surely “Minga” is his nickname?

Happy with the selection, fills the Devon Smith hole and by all reports is a dedicated kid with good character and athletic attributes.

This pick sure does Snell.

Does he have a bit of mongrel about him?

Well his mother was a Kelpie-cross, so I’d say so.

Similar stat profile to Tom Atkins who was a cats VFL tackling machine before he got drafted.

Happy enough.

Are you hopeful he’ll keep growing?

We are absolutely rooted if belly goes down/ tires as the season progresses. This is majorly concerning.

Which one is Will?

Saw a fair bit of hi as a junior, though nothing since then.

Tireless worker, big accumulator, top-notch runner, will give you everything. Issue with him is his hurt factor. Luke Partington (delisted by the Weagles last year) got more out of his touches, while at the champs, Parish torched both of them.

Reminds me a little of Pigeon, actually, from a playing style point of view, though McGrath can play defence while Snelling is a distinctly midfieldy midfielder. Lots of touches, always involved, moves it around, not really an 80-metres-gained type of player.

Standing behind Tywin Lannister, you can’t actually see him

Has he really done a hammy??

What the hell happened to him after that one AFL game in 2016. He played in the last game of the season against Gold Coast and got 16 disposals 6 tackles and a goal. That’s a pretty decent game for a 18 year old. Port had a decent year in 2017 but why couldn’t he break into the side?
