That line about “wanting to thank Essendon for the opportunity and the experience” says to me it’s curtains for him on the list.
And if the club were in two minds, having another issue with his back that required surgery would have been the final blow.
It’s a pity too, I had pretty high hopes for him from the vision I’d seen at WAFL level prior to us drafting him and then in that match in the VFL where he kicked 4 or 5. He looked like a proper full forward.
All the best to him and I hope he gets his body right.

Ah that sucks, he’s had a nightmare run. Sensible move by the club though.
We’ll always have that 3-game VFL stretch to remember him by.

Footy is hard at the best of times and with the best of health.
So trying to succeed when you have these issues can make it too difficult.
Gotta feel sorry for him that his footy dreams have been constantly thwarted. Maybe, just maybe, he’ll get a clear run and have another opportunity to give it a proper go.

If it is so, it’s a sensible approach.
Injuries are restricting him from getting a good run at it.
We think Reid is cursed, but Hunter is another level of cursed.
It’d be interesting if Baldwin gets the same treatment.
Big shame, there’s something there it’s just whether he can get his body right to live up to the potential. He looked like he was tracking for an early debut this year and even potentially taking Jones’ fwd spot in the first few rounds - and I hope the boys keep in touch
