It’s both. But every draft expert had him top 10-15. Plenty of high draft picks have been ordinary so we’re not the only one.

It matters not where armchair “experts” rated him pre-draft.

We were the only who picked him. And that was clearly a mistake.

Except Richmond offered us quite a bit reputedly to move up the board and pick him.

That’s not true actually. In the last game he had a shot at goal from about 40 m out at 45 degrees and it narrowly missed about half way up the goal post. It probably would have carried 50 to 55 metres.

The one that missed? Would have been half way up the boundary post, and even then would have been lucky to be 50 meters.

Inconsequential. The fact is, he is gone.

He’ll have a good career at a lower level - and probably find it more fulfilling. He’s just a battler at AfL level. Just like Snelling that’s gone on to win a Magarey Mefal
