Former #8 Ben Hobbs

Getting Hobbs and Tsatas is consecutive drafts with first rounders has set us back a long way. And that’s after the Perkins/Cox/Reid draft. Disco really never had an eye for picking midfielders.

We don’t actually know if Dodoro rode roughshod over his recruiting staff’s recommendations. The recruiting staff included a long term recruiting manager, Merve Keane and a network of talent spotters all over the country.
Naturally Dodoro had to take responsibility for deeper systemic failure or his own final decisions as smodern management practice demands. But what if the problem all along was the recommendations of the recruiting staff and talent spotters?

We need to keep Hobbs now - need him to take Merrett’s spot in the midfield as a starter.

That’s going backwards in full throttle.

Hobbs a slow, under-sized, ordinary kick plodder with a habit of giving away free picks through poor tackles or being caught with the ball.

I think we need to get into a team development mode where we bring in lots of players, winnow out the chaff until the number of good players increases to the point we don’t want to get rid of any of them. At it might take 4 to 5 seasons . But what we have been doing since 2017 has not worked.

100 percent. I was joking, I use (poor) humour as a defence mechanism when upset.

We absolutely do not.

If Merrett goes we have a royal ■■■■ ton of money to burn and even more picks. We would trade in someone. Hobbs is not suddenly becoming a full time mid

Ha just saw your follow up.

Well played.

You may as well say, Ridley can leave as I think Tsatas would make an excellent replacement attacking half back

these statements need a Trigger Alert warning first

He played a few good games. Would look decent for maybe the Pies?

Sam Walsh too old as a Merrett replacement?

He’s 25, 4 years younger.

He’d do

Pair nicely with Durham.

Can absolutely play on the outside as well as be a bull inside when needed to.

We in theory have the picks for that and the cap space for that already if Draper goes, possibly even if he stayed.

If true, the main incompetence is with BS.

Except for Durham.

And Martin.

And that other bloke you may have heard of who has been our captain for a while now.

Dodoro was a master at landing the no risk draft pick but put him anywhere near a high first round pick and the poor dear would just go to water

The below is in The Age with Peter Ryan’s byline who I don’t think is prone to hyperbole. At this rate, I reckon we’ll keep him because Hobbs on a one year deal is better than a pick 85 long shot.

2021 draft of Hobbs, Lord, Garrett McDonagh (remember that WTF moment?) is a disaster.

Ben Hobbs’ future is uncertain as he is uncontracted and is yet to receive strong interest from other clubs

Any chance you can post?
