I've seen heard a few "I can't believe those are console graphics" comments by a few people. I don't doubt that the graphics will look insane for a second. Take Red Dead Redemption which came out 3 years ago and look at the awesome scenery there. GTA V will knock your socks off.
BUT, as a PS3 user, performance worries me a bit. Don't let me down Rockstar.
Shouldn't PS3 perform better than 360?
Neg.
Split memory and whatnot. If it was developed specifically for PS3 then I wouldn't be worried. But being ported from PC/360 which have a shared memory pool always concerns me. Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Borderlands, all open world, all ported, all with performance issues.
I've picked Skyrim back up with the Dawnguard DLC and it is a horrendous lagfest on my old PS3.

Combined with Polydeukes' post, now I'm worried.
I changed my Pre-Order from 360 to PS3 cos I have 2008 era 360 with only 20GB and not enough room to install... thought PS3 would be quicker.

I wouldn't freak out too much just yet. I just tell myself that the last game (RDR) played flawlessly for me so hopefully they know what they're doing now. GTA IV I had issues with. And that was before RDR.
Rocky, no news on another RDR except that there will be another one in the future.
Edit:: I also just read that everything we've seen so far of GTA V has been from the PS3 version. I didn't know that. I'm now not worried at all anymore.

How new is your PS3? I understand the new slimline ones run a lot better than the older 'fat' ones.
I wouldn't worry about my FUD post. It's been 5 years since GTA IV, even Rockstar has worked out the PS3. Read Dead was fine. It's become more difficult to predict which console will have the best port, anyway. Volition's games seem better on PS3 these days (still waaaaaaaaaay better on PC). They have some hardcore tech gurus, though.

Mine's the slim. Not the new super slim but the slim.
I grabbed this last week, played about 10 hours and it seems to be missing something. It seems to have been over simplified to the point of boredom.
I think I much rather Rome 1 to be honest.
I'm looking forward to Tom Clancy's The Division!
Shame about Rome 2. The original was delicious. Although, I think I preferred Medieval. I seem to remember too much time spent in sieges in Rome?
PC strategy gamers are spoiled for choice, these days. Europa Universalis IV also just came out… if only I had a spare 100 hours to get stuck into that.
Before getting sucked into Diablo 3 again, I tried spending some time in Crusader Kings 2 but every time I got near my Mac, I booted up Papers, Please or Legend of Grimrock.
Diablo 3’s online co-op on console is fine. And when I say fine, I mean, “Holy cow! This ■■■■■ is still awesome! EVERYTHING MELTS AT MY COMMAND.” Not just the fact that it actually works, which it does.
Just blew through Acts 3 and 4 in 3 hours with some random wizard, tonight. Typical PSN, though, no one uses microphones. If you think it’s an issue, that is.
