That was no sugar hit win, that was a comprehensive victory over a team that had been in some very good form driven by a core of younger players like Roberts.
Maybe there is something in this “rebuild” thing after all.

Plan A for Melbourne is play bruise free run and gun footy.
Plan B is wave the white flag.
A lot of contact-averse players in that Melbourne team. They got beat up and bullied today. It was nice to see us do such a thing.
Others teams will copy now
I wasn’t able to follow the game (preparing for pesky Cyclone Vaianu) and when I saw the final score I assumed we were the 68! So stoked and can’t wait to sit down and watch the replay. Feels so good to win again ![]()
That was so unexpected but so awesome! Great day.
A lot of people were saying it was a pity it wasn’t in front of a home crowd in Melbourne. I’m not sure, a bit less pressure for the players was helpful. Going to recent Essendon games you can almost hear the collective groan every mistake we make. It’s contagious. Here’s hoping it’s the start of better times.
Wish you well through the storm, staying safe.
The game is well worth watching.
OUT: Tsatas
I would but he blocked me years ago![]()
He also said that about his best mate and his wife.
Every cloud has a silver lining so too every sunny day will cast a shadow…so Brad isn’t going anywhere anymore and goodbye Pick 1
Haha.
His best game I want him to succeed and prove the likes of me wrong plays like this and he keeps his spot on the team
The likes of you I have no problem with.
It’s the likes of Brad Scott I’d like to see proven wrong.
Takes advantage of his best mates ex wife when she’s heart broken and crying on his shoulder.
Such a sleezy kent Gary
Brad Scott’s comments were interesting about Tsatas, saying that despite good performances in the VFL he still needed to work on a few things but that he’s earned his recall.
There were a couple of Heppell-type “floaty” kicks but overall I thought he was very solid. Judging by the presser I’d be very surprised if he’s left out next week.
Not even brad could omit him I don’t think.
Was clearly a little rusty but good arguments exist for him being our best mid today, especially early.
I noted on the game thread that even when his kicks were scrappy they were to the right spots.
Our approach to goal looked so much better today and he was a big part of that.
Herbatron shorter odds to use this than the Bulldogs were to win last week.
Shut. Up.
It’s never what we do right
It’s what the opposition does wrong
