General Australian news

I haven’t been paying attention,

We don’t like Ahmed now?

You can like him, I liked what he did, don’t like what he’s doing. But like I said, good luck to the bloke, he got shot, deserves the recognition he got. Monetising it is probably just a smidge disrespectful to the dead and their families in my book. If that’s too precious for the oppressed conservative corp here I hope they recover.

Hummus is so overrated.

Hmmmm maybe, but he does have a story to tell. If he wants to sell that story to the highest bidder so be it.

And nobody is stopping him, so how’s he being cancelled? Living the dream, unlike the couple who were killed performing the same act. Got the biggest cheer of the Ashes and personally greeted by the Kash Patel FBI franchise after landing in NY. If he donates some of the 3 million he got on the GoFundMe to a relevant cause he’s a double hero. Surely you can’t play the game and expect to remain a sacred cow?

Its interesting that these opinions only came out when he had something nice to say about Donald Trump.

It’s also interesting how this discussion started, no one on here has said he can’t do what he’s doing .

Ummm, he hasn’t been “cancelled”?

Donslaught just busy erecting stawmen to stick it to da lefties.

Well no, he hasn’t been “cancelled” but the hard shift in attitude towards him has certainly changed after he said something in support of Donald Trump.

At least he’s ‘erecting’..

Well, the first I heard about it was 30min ago on here. I’m not even sure this backlash/cancel thing is actually a thing. Are they discussing this on talkback or something?

When Donslaught referred to him being cancelled you mean? Which he verifiably has not and will not be, just like all the other straw poster boys the drop in/buzz off chaps prop up for a good time here? Are we not allowed to discuss subjects brought by Donslaught and his neediness scotty21?

And why the ■■■■ not?

Why can’t the bloke monetise it? What he did was absolutely amazing. No doubt saved a heap of lives. Bravery like that should absolutely come with a massive reward. I hope he never has to sell a pack of darts again.

He can do what he likes. Maybe wait until bodies are in the ground before you tee up a paid Sky exclusive then ditch it last minute while being put up in a 5 star because your man got you something tastier? Ahmed can do what he likes, but he’s as open as anyone to observation and he most definitely isn’t being cancelled for having a Donny boner.

I realise it’s hard to seperate the art from the artist for a lot of people.

You must be a heap of fun at parties.

He’s not breaking any laws so he can do whatever he likes. And people can like him less for his political views/monetising the situation etc

Doesn’t cheapen his actions at Bondi.

I’m pretty good actually, tend to stay away from politics and current affairs and save my pretending that everything’s hunky dory and legit for fun times. Ahmed’s not Australia’s puppy dog, he won’t give a ■■■■ if he has detractors, he’s just being a proper capitalist. There’s people here who have been donning the Bondi cape for political point scoring but they’ll be far too cowardly to outwardly agree with me on this. It’s tasteless at the very least, how do you not see that? But then I’m old and I remember before BP hijacked the term ‘quiet achiever’.

Absolutely not, agree. Discussion subject was presented (although it was very likely trolling) and it’s being discussed.

Of course.

I was merely pointing out that one could think less of him as a person due to his political views but still think what he did that day was heroic. Which should seem pretty reasonable, but….
