Their Bombers refuelled here on the way to bombing the Houthis and in a fortnight time we will have 22,000 US defence personnel plus equipment visiting us and I dare say they would be fully prepared to go straight from here if need be

Surely that’s doctored as several airports in that vacant region are operating.
At least once in the recent past, it became public that US air refuelling military planes departed from an Australian base. Maybe connected to merchant shipping in the Red Sea.
Since then the Houthis and US declared a truce on US merchant ships, that attacks would be limited to Israel cargo. The UK has left the scene.
Possibly also a deal that the US would not impede Houthi attacks on Israel.
Saudi and the Houthis continue to maintain a truce well beyond the date of expiry of the UN brokered ceasefire.

Yeah, I wasn’t doubting the Emirates flight to Moscow more the point that there was other aircraft in that vacant area too but none obviously as foolish at the Emirates flight
