I think it’s a one-dimensional hole that is unplayable for below average golfers.
It works absolutely perfectly for this event, though.

Over half way through an amazing golf trip. We played at Peninsula Kingwood on Sunday - unfortunately the rain washed us out after 8 holes.
Yesterday was Lost Farm in the morning followed by a round at Bougle Run. This morning was 18 at Barnbougle Dunes and then another round at Bougle Run. Such amazing courses. I somehow managed to score 21 points this morning on the front 9 at Barnbougle Dunes before the wind got up - only 14 points on the back 9. Still happy to be doing so well off my handicap of 25.
Tomorrow we are off to King Island to play Ocean Dunes and then Cape Wickham on Thursday. Can’t wait.
Fantastic. Which course at PK?
North. We only got the first 7 in before playing 18. Was so wet that it wasn’t enjoyable at all.
North’s great but was interested in South as I haven’t played there since the changes. (And as great as North is, to have it #5 in Aus as Aus Golf Digest has, is a massive over-rate.)
For those that don’t visit the red and black humour thread.
There are three types of golfers.
Those that can count and those that can’t.
Finally got a new driver. Picked up a Ping G425, low spin tech. Will let you know how I go with it.
Was looking for a G400 actually but they seem to be almost impossible to find. I hadn’t planned to get the later model but the prices on the used market were more favourable than I expected.
I had a Ping fitting a few years ago when the G400s first came out and I tested several models in a Trackman; the LST was consistently 10-15 metres further. Until now I hadn’t been able to get one for myself.
Great to see Viktor Hovland back in the winners circle. A great character and a terrific Norwegian
Min Woo Lee wins the Houston Open. His maiden PGA victory. An amazing putt on 18 to hold onto his 1 shot lead.
Fantastic for him. The first of many wi s I’m sure.
I believe he only hit 18 fairways off the tee with the driver for the week?
That gets him into Augusta doesn’t it?
He is invited to play the Masters. Not sure if this is a direct outcome from the win this morning.
Edit - his is qualified by having finished last year in the top 50 world rankings
Let him cook!
Just picked up a few clubs. Ping G430 10k max driver, i530 irons, 54 and 58 Ping S159 wedges and a Ping BunkR. Nice clubs!!
Very nice. Where’s the pics
Too dark now but can do it in the light if you really want to see them.
got myself a day off while in adelaide later this month and will have the clubs in the car. any suggestions on which course to hit up?
If I had to choose a favourite between the British Open and Masters, I think I’d choose the Open, however there something about the Masters that’s pretty special. Looking forward to the week ahead. Fox 503 (on Kayo) will be getting a workout.
I would love to be a Masters champion, because it is, well, Augusta. It’s just a magical place and to say you won on that golf course is something that can never be taken away from you, especially since you are invited back for life. The green jacket is iconic. You are always a part of that history.
I would love to be a US Open champion, because it has the reputation of being played in brutal conditions on the hardest courses and is considered as much of a mental test as much as your golf.
And I’d love to be an Open champion, because in my eyes it is the most worldly and global of events, it is the oldest golf tournament on Earth, it is played on iconic venues, and it also represents a different form of golf that in my mind is a little more pure and strategic.
It’s hard to get excited about the PGA, though. It’s clearly the ugly stepchild. I don’t think they know what to do with it. Making it the US Open lite doesn’t work. Playing it in August, July, May, February, whatever.
I know some would like to see an elevated Australian Open as a major, but I don’t think that’s logistically possible. I wonder if maybe like an Asia-Pacific major would work better, with Oz being in a rotation.
It’s hard to get a bunch of pampered American tour players to leave their cocoon of privilege.
Royal Adelaide and Kooyonga?
Or do you mean somewhere you can get a game? I have no idea
