Golf and related musings

Golf should have a wildcard rule. In that the tournament organisers can pick 3 players who missed the cut to be a group.

(Only half serious about that)

I’m on the Min Woo bandwagon. He’s a star! Now that I’m playing regularly I have a great deal of admiration for how good these guys are.

Smith starting well today, -2 (-9 overall) and joint 2nd, one shot back.

glorious weather for the final round

Frustratingly, it’s not hard and fast like I was hoping it would be. Benign winds also make life easier for the players.

Going to be a cracker. Smith, Min Woo and Scott all amongst it.

Has anyone in here actually played it?

I have. It’s almost impossible under normal conditions for normal hackers (c. 18-20 handicappers) like me. You need to land the ball meters in front of the green to have a chance of keeping the ball there.

The course has clearly been heavily softened for this tournament which is disappointing (and all the rain has clearly contributed to that).

Oh my, what a clutch putt

This is so good.

Rasmussen misses an eagle by a poofteenth and Smith sinks a clutch birdie. All square heading up the last.

HERE WE GO

love these type of finishes

can only imagine the nerves the players are feeling

last 20 min: 90% on the golf, 10% on the cricket

Degree of difficulty level: 10

FARK

Oh what an awful way to end it.

shame that Smith lost that way, but Rasmus dug super deep as well

anyway, Cam’s back to playing strong golf

Gee, Smith just needed to be a little more positive with that approach. He put it too far left. Too conservative in hindsight.
