Are you playing both courses on King Island?
Where on the MP?
You have great golf ahead of you!

Loving Tom Kimā¦ and the SW Kim walk-in hat off to winā¦ awesomeā¦ althouh 11-7 will be hard to come back from.
Sleeping on the couch to watch it!
Yes thatās the plan!
Current schedule for MP is looking like St Andrews Beach, The Dunes, Moonah Links Open, National Old and Lonsdale Links.
Could change on the fly, or could break my body (bad back along with other crap) after the first round lol. Possibility of adding courses if body holds together.
I think you mean I have some great courses ahead of me lol unfortunately the golf itself maybe very average at the moment as Iāve been really struggling with my swing - but hey thatās life as a hacker! Going to be a blast either way!
Are you catching the ferry to Lonsdale?
Looks like a good bunch of courses.
Thatās becoming a bucket list thing for me.
If I could ever get some family to come down here and visit, I want to go on a big Tasmania golf bender.
Thatās the plan - final day of the golf trip and start of the normal holiday with my partner whoās coming in on the boat.
Friday night in Geelong as doing a balloon ride on the Saturday. Then 4 nights at Cape Schanck and touristy stuff - any recommendations on hidden gems of any sort (food etc) more than welcome.
Iām slowly ticking off all the Tassie Courses although havenāt been to many new ones recentlyā¦still many to get to!
I have serious putting issues at the moment . Iām hitting the ball fine all round , but putting . omg . I know you have these things from time to time and they usually resolve ,but Iāve never had it like I have for about the last 6 to 8.weeks .
I have gone mad with drills to try to get the stroke right , but man in comp days itās bad . anyone got any tips or hacks or experience on the mental side of putting ?
Similar situation. If it is stroke and technical, see a pro and get it fixed. But game day, you need to put all thoughts of that aside. You simply cant putt well thing about mechanics.
Liaten to this. Pretty good.
My simple tip is to try a random trigger going into the day. Wiggle toe, blink, breathe, pinky or thumb pressure. It doesnāt change anything and might free your mind.
Sometimes focussing on the ball can be an issue. In the same head position, look an inch ahead of the ball. Within 3 feet Iām usually staring at the exact strand of grass the ball is entering the cup. However for me this is to relax, trust the stroke and helped me hit it a touch harder. Whenever I putt on slow/wet greens Iāll always look ahead of the ball.
yeah Iām normwlly very good at shaking this off . I think itās because my handicap had come down a bit this year and I started eyeing off 10 for the first time in my life . I knocked 5 off and have drifter half point in the last month . I play with some really good golfers too so Iām very concious about not trying to compare my game or compete with them as far as off the stick and pars and birdies go. golf definatley gets harder the better you get and sometimes that can affect the way you play the game too . I often have w chuckle to myself when I see my playing buddies get cranky and complain about missing birdies .
good tips and that podcast is great . Iāll check out some of their other podcasts for sure . I have heard of that guy before .
Nate Caddy has joined our golf course. Gotta get a game in with him.
You could Caddie for himš
Shot an 88 today in absolutely stunning weather at Cape Wickham - beautiful course. Probably the best full 18 hole round I have ever played - often only play 9. 42 on the back - couple of lost balls on the front hurtā¦
Extra enjoyable as Iāve been playing horrendously bad for quite some time. Off to Mornington tomorrow for the second leg.
Well done at Cape Wickham - good score.
Best of luck with the Old Course at The National and The Open Course at Moonah Links, particularly if the
breeze is up. You can bet on it! The National clubhouse, practice facilities are superb. Enjoy The Peninsula
(Coodabeenās term!) and also the Bellarine, Lonsdale Links where itās always very windy!
fk i really want to get back to lonsdale links. great course
got a work trip up in nsw next week, sneaking in a round at black bull on my way home
I love Lonsdale Links; itās a real throwback
Thanks Frizz!
The wind on first day of King Island was horrendous - Ocean Dunes was a hard slog lol. Not that Iām not used to it being from Tassieā¦
Had an awesome day at St Andrews Beach - loved the course there, Moonah Open yesterday with a reasonable wind (definitely not good when currently hitting weak fade drivers) - that last hole was an absolute brute. Didnāt play as well but salvaged a decent back 9!
The Dunes today and National Old tomorrow, the old body is definitely feeling it!
Definitely didnāt want to know that itās always windy at Lonsdale lol, thatās my last course so was hoping for something gentle lol.
The Dunes was brutal on me (not a fan / not much experience / hence not very good) with fast greens. Beautiful day and not too windy but some very harsh pin placements for a hacker like me. Played decent and loved the challenging layout.
Small change of plans for Friday as Lonsdale not available, nor is 13th beach.
Thinking Curlewis over Barwon Heads?
