As I understand it, macedonia is a historical ethnic/geographical area; some of it is in political entity now known as FYROM Macedonia, but chunks of it are in Greece or Bulgaria.
Political borders don’t really match the ethnic ones.
Alexander the great was from the (now) Greek bit of macedonia.
Eh. Greece have worse problems than this.
