Why give port a leg up with 19 for a mid/HB that averaged 10 kicks a game this season when the experts are predicting an even draft that runs into mid second round.
Not sure who will slip to 19 but I would much rather a full career from one of Berry, Battle, Venables, Powell-Pepper, Florent or Shai Bolton than 3 years from a Port Adelaide reject.
Or maybe Hartlett will play as a midfielder which is his best position.

Pick 6 traded for Prestia and next years first for Hartlett lol.You can at least understand why they might believe that their chances of drafting anyone better are slim. Prestia was on track to being an elite mid & Hartlett’s best is very very good. Compare that with guys like Ellis, Lennon & Conca (some of their more recent 1st round choices) & if I was a Tiges fan I’d be jumping at trading 1st round picks for players they know can play.
Prestia yes, he is only 21 I think. Hartlett, not so sure. Richmond will be ■■■■ next year so there is every chance that their first round pick will be pick 5 or so, I wouldn’t be giving that up on Hartlett.
But as you say, their drafting history is poor so it might be better for them to trade it away.
Prestia was in the same draft as Heppell - He’s 23 going on 24.
