Then millions at HR… On what kind of deal?..
For such a hyped player, he actually hasn’t been living up to it yet, but the massive upside is still there… And we a crying out for a player that he could and hopefully will be…

I reckon we organize a couple of dudes in balaclavas later on in the year to kidnap the kid… bring him back to Victoria, shave his head, chuck a dons guernsey on him and just pretend he was a new kid from the VFL we upgrade onto our senior list next year… thoughts?

do we really want him for the cost? , potential animosity from other players if he doesn’t work out?, the media attention and pressure?, and the hype and drama that might surround him?
let him go to carlton because it will be even more popcorn worthy watching them stuff it up
My thoughts have always been, if we’ve gone down the path of wooing him, and he says he wants to play for us, we must get the deal done. We’ve been down the path before of getting a player to say they want to come to us, and then seeing a deal fall through for one reason or another (Dunkley, Bobby Hill). We can’t afford the same if Reid said he wanted to be a Bomber.
What the cost looks like, who knows? We have a rough idea on salary with the figures being bandied about. In terms of a trade it’s a minimum of 2 1st round picks, then what you do from there, add a player (of which we’d have a number you could throw into a deal), they’d want a 3rd 1st rounder but I’d be reticent to go down that path unless it’s a real late one you get from another trade.
