Anybody had any first hand experience with medication options for weight loss?
Iāve been engaged in weight loss endeavours on one way or another for the past decade, and I would have to admit, unsuccessfully.
At first I tried all the quick fix fad type things. Keto, Atkins, blah blah blah. Obviously they donāt work long term. Would drop 10-15 kg and as soon as I returned to ānormalā patterns would slowly put it back on. Well⦠I say slowly, generally I would Indo any losses gained over 3 or four months in a matter of weeks. Bullshit.
For the last two years I have been intermittent fasting. Not the extreme type, just your general 8pm until 2pm type stuff, normal for me because I donāt breakfast. Straight black coffee sucks but thatās a first world problem.
My weight just doesnāt move. I counted calories for a while, made a lot of switches away from calorie dense foods which is now an ingrained habit. Not even a habit really, just normal. I of course indulge in crap food here and there but I have been running at a responsible calorie deficit (on weekly average without regular blowouts) for a solid 12 months, and have lost exactly 3 kilos, 2.2 of which were in week 1ā¦
I have always weighed more than it appears I should. Iām just over 6 foot and weigh in at 117, yet I look slimmer than mates my age who weigh 20 kilos less. I would say my body type is approximately āDean Rioliā.
I donāt really care about appearances, but my weight (or some other mystery reason) means my body punishes me after even moderate exercise. Iāve done the gym thing, walking, calisthenics, resistance bands, stationary bike⦠Even if I sustain it for a couple of weeks my weight doesnāt drop. Iād anything it increases slightly.
So, to my original question⦠Would getting on the fake meth tablets actually help, specifically to get me to a weight that I can carry more easily when exercising?
Reddit is a cesspool of conflicting information and my GP is a google referencing script machine, so any perspective will be helpful.
