Fletch has to be top 5 at least.
Goddard over Zaka aswell
IMO Misiti was better than Jobe Watson.
And I’ll have Rioli in the early teens.
Is it “best” as in… this guy’s best was better than that guy’s best?
Or best as in that guy’s total career was better than that guy’s career?
Because changing that criteria is going to give you vastly different results.
You couldn’t possibly put Rioli or JD in the top 20 on total weight of career, but on talent… sure.
(And you wouldn’t put SES in the top 40 by either criteria)
Top 5
Hird
Fletcher
Lloyd
Wanganeen
Thompson
Still getting over the Alessio thing.
He was number 1 ruckman for what, 2 seasons between Somerville finishing and Barnes coming back?
Mind blowing.
Maybe a dumb question but, who is Russell Gould ?
Solomon, MJ, Wellman, Bewick, Caracella, Kickett, (Rioli who I’ve mentioned) probably others I’ve forgotten all have claims to that list and I don’t think you’d have to argue too hard to put any of them above Cess.
Edit: lol. Maybe that selection is the author’s middle finger to a certain other player?
if you are ranking them as if they are at their absolute best, imo:
Hooker makes this list for me also
I would flip Jobe and Lucas personally.
Might just be my personal bias towards Jobe, but he is top five for mine. I’d slot him in at four on that list.
Zaharakis being on this list is an inditement against Essendon. Purely embarrassing.
I’d personally have Hird at 2 behind Kepler Bradley.
Compared to a Mark Mercuri, Michael Long or Jason Johnson… how does Jobe Watson’s Finals performances stack up?
I can’t justify having Jobe ahead of guys that stood up when it counted.
An idiot obviously
You don’t place 2nd in the Brownlow for no reason.
To be fair to Jobe, he was in a team that did not let him have as much experience in finals as those guys above. So, bit hard to say.
