Good changes.
Gleeson out for Ashby?Lol. Some irrational hatreds know no bounds.
well who goes out for Ashby? They are both half backs and Gleeson was dropped recently only to come in for a late withdrawal
IN: Hartley, Walla, Ashby
OUT: Langford, Bird…Gleeson?
Have we been waiting for Langford to sign before we dropped him. I reckon he has been decent considering kind of surprised with his omission. Based on smacks game last week I’m sort of surprised with the call up but figure he will end up as an emergency. Doesn’t look promising for Edwards.
2 wit. source: ‘how da fq his jierrettt got to 50 gemes? ono heng on, surry.’
Seriously though, I love how fast Zerrett made it to 50. He’s already a top 3 player. Love the spikey haired teenager lookin’ beast.
On the ground = will playZaka, Jerrett, Bird, Tippa for mine
I think Ashby will be rewarded, maybe Bird to miss out. Not that I agree with it necessarily, just seems the most likely of those 4.
VFL team lists Ashby, Smack and Shaunye which probably mean it will just be:
Out: Langford, Edwards
In: Hartley, Walla
From what Woosha said in the video and assuming the interchange bench is where the outs will come from:
Zakka stays in
Walla in
Ashby probably not yet but getting there
Smack similar role to Jamar, so only one of those 2 to play and Jamar named on ground so Smack to be his emergency.
Not mentioned by Woosha:
Shredwards on thin ice, but maybe a chance to play given the motivation playing against his old side and to give him a chance to show his worth by giving him a run of games.
Jerrett, probably in to give him some continuity to show his worth.
Bird maybe a rest.
My guess:
In: Hartley, Walla
Out: Langford, Bird (rested).
Emerg: Ashby, Smack, Bird

Sounds about right. Gee Edwards is going to have to get his skates on. How many decent afl games would he need to get to go around again next year? I was hoping he would be left in but also understand how he can’t be gifted games. Hope he blitzes in the vfl so he gets another crack. If he isn’t going to nail a spot this year then the writing is on the wall.

I think it sounds about right too, but I think we should stick with Shred one more week and then back to the 2’s if he doesn’t show enough. The VFL side isn’t always an accurate indication though, it included Dempsey last week and he was named on the field in the seniors and stayed there of course.
The bye (both AFL and VFL) will make it hard to get back in the side in a hurry, agree with the above about the writing on the wall.
Come on, give Ashby a go.
I can’t see Bird getting dropped. As it stands our midfield is:
Zaka
Zerrett
Parish
Bird
Some other guys
Bird plays unless injured, he is our second best contested/clearance player this year iirc, behind Zerrett.
NO LAV. NO FRANCIS
YAWN
Yeah, no Lav is especially etc.
NO LAV. NO FRANCISYAWN
Good management of players… booooo
No surprise at all Langford was omitted.
Has stunk it up for last 3 weeks.
He may be carrying something or it may be form or confidence we dont really know.
Bottom line has been his lack of accountability IMO.
Is gunna be a part of our future no doubt … but for now this is deserved.
Lol, Francis? You srs mate?
Is Bird injured? Surely if fit he plays in the 22. Any news on this front?
D Zaharakis, J Merrett, C Bird, A McDonald-Tipungwuti seems to be the logical bench. Not great news for Edwards.

I dont expect any Bird droppings at Essendon this year.
