Hold the Line - building club culture

Hold the Line video

Went for a run today listening to a bit of Tom Morello and “Hold the Line”. Look maybe @CJohns podcast has influenced me a bit but Rage Against the Machine are linked to the Bombers in my head.

I’ve set out the lyrics below but I reckon belting this out in the change rooms, playing it out on the ground and players yelling “hold the line” could help build the club culture we need. Plus the air raid sign underneath the track is almost too perfect. It’s a bridge between honestly where we’ve come from, where we are today as a club and where we need to be tomorrow.

Hold The Line"
(feat. grandson)

Nobody said it would be easy
Nobody said that it would all be fine
But to get where we’re going
Brother, you’ve gotta hold the line
It ain’t a matter of if
Nah, it’s just a matter of time
But to get where we’re going
Sister, gotta hold the line

You gotta stay steadfast
Tread lightly
'Cause they’re looking for a reason to knock you down
But you can’t ask too politely
In the trenches you gotta get loud

Hold the line
Hold the line
Don’t pay 'em no mind
Oh, hold the line

Nobody said it happens overnight
But if you’re looking for a sign
Remember everybody that stood up before you
Oh, they hold the line
They wanna tell you, you’re already free
Put these chains on and rob you blind
When they co-op the movement
Don’t trip just hold the line
Hold the line

Hold the line
Hold the line
Don’t pay 'em no mind
Oh, hold the line

You gotta stay steadfast
Tread lightly
'Cause they’re looking for a reason to knock you down
But you can’t ask too politely
In the trenches you gotta get loud

You gotta stay steadfast
Tread lightly
'Cause they’re looking for a reason to knock you down
But you can’t ask too politely
In the trenches you gotta get loud

Hold the line
Hold the line
Don’t pay 'em no mind
Oh, hold the line

The current mood of fans is possibly best described, as we speak “Another one bites the dust”?!

‘We are the champions’ by Freddie and co.
Give the other teams something to giggle about but then one day… boschhhh. We will be.

This is one step away from flash mob territory for mine.
Appreciate the effort you’ve put in though.

I told a friend of mine that th eBombers were not going so well, and they needed a shake up. He laughed at me, and said 1966.

He follows the Saints.

Just a bit of perspective.

Surely if we need shaken up it’s grunge that needs to do it. No more overproduced pap, I want to be hit between the eyes.

Here we are now, entertain us
I feel stupid and contagious
Here we are now, entertain us

I donno if it’d do much
a few more losses and “they can never tear us apart” Ain’t gonna help hinkley, so a few more poor seasons and i can’t imagine hold the line is gonna save rutten.

Surely a tasteful Bjork song could cure what ails us?
