I remember when.. one of our players

I remember a day at Waverley Park/VFL Park…

Can’t remember who we were playing. But I was in seats on the wing.

Enter Ryan O’Connor. Big bad boy. I grimaced when I heard what he said to the bloke on the wing who just marked the ball. Really? Would you do that!? He scared me!!!

I remember when Mark Jamar scared the absolute ■■■■ out of Willie Buzza in a VFL final at Windy Hill.

I remember when one of our players held the premiership cup up on the winner’s dais.

At least I think I remember that…I am getting old and my mind might be playing tricks on me :grimacing:

Can’t repeat. But that bloke stayed well clear.

I was at Princess Park… when Neale Daniher put Carlton away in the last quarter.

So was I…right behind the goals at the Carlton Members end…surrounded by fark carlton fans, wearing my Essendon jumper, scarf and beanie…copped a heap of sh*t most of the day until they went very quiet in the last few minutes

That day was surreal.

Jack Mihochek at Moorabbin. 1980? Kicked 3 or 4 goals of the ground.

I usually went to the footy in those days with 2-3 mates (all Essendon supporters) but for some reason they couldn’t make it.

A mate from work (fark Carlton member) asked if I wanted to go with him…could get in for free as his guest so I said yes.

He never asked me again after that day…I’ve always wondered why

Mike Fitzpatrick was there too

I remember when you didn’t have to be over 50 to have good Essendon football memories.

I have a vague recollection of a game vs Port at Docklands circa 2003 where Ted Richards overrated himself a bit and kept trying to bump Port players when the obvious thing to do was tackle them instead.

Not sure why that was the first thing that came to mind.

I remember when we celebrate draft night because gun mids like Hobbs and Tsatas slid to our pick.

I remember when Matthew Lloyd lined up Chad Cornes at Etihad stadium and hit him so hard the meat on meat slap could be heard on level 3

I thought we said we’d never speak of those again…

I remember the stunned silence on a sunny winter afternoon at Princess Park when the announcement that Princess Diana had died was made.

I remember being really p*ssed that Ch7 just had a constant picture of a car crash in a French tunnel instead of showing the football
