Where would the Davey boys rank in the draft? could have our very own Burgoyne combo
If they all turn out to be first round picks, nobody should be complaining.
You donât mess around with Development. If theyâre highly rated and in form when they are drafted⌠thatâs the best we could ask for.
9th and 67th according to my rankings
The likes of @THE_DON1 & @benfti would have a better idea than me.
But I believe Alwyn Jnr is right up there in the top kids of his age.
Jayden is looking very promising, prior to doing his knee.
yep, was him, and the guy I just asked concurred with @THE_DON1, he had a very impressive first showing.
Just wondering how do we know much about the 2022 kids? With no footy last year, they would have been 15 or so last time they played a game in VIC, right? Is that how far out the recruiters predict the strength of the talent pool?
I got to see a few 16s games last year before covid hit Victoria and all other states still had 16s playing aswell with even a few playing up in the 18s like Jed Hagan in WA. One of the best junior football games Iâve ever seen was between Oakleigh and Sandringham in a practise game last year which included Alwyn Davey Jr and both sides looked stacked for talent and the talent pool also looks strong in WA and SA aswell.
Players are tracked down as early as under 12s, not all of them make the leap but players like Rowell and Serong looked like great talent even at that age.
If there is a year to start a rebuild itâs next year, keeping all our picks for next year and bottoming out could reap big rewards with a very strong draft coming up. 2022 has some high end talent too with the Davey twins also a guarantee. We have a real chance to rebound hitting the draft hard for those two years.
If we are to trade some of our players to other clubs Iâd be stocking up hard on future picks instead of this year. We have Brand and Eyre locked in for our later picks and can get the best talent we can with our first that could still end up a top 10 pick. I wouldnât go into full on delist mode at the end of this year, give the likes of Begley, Gown, Clarke and Mutch as much senior exposure as possible next year, nothing to lose out of it.
I did the search for you.
And then Josh Misiti will retire in like 15 years time and weâll struggle to replace him for around 3 years until we draft Wolf Watson.
Could be wrong but I thought Jayden was the highly rated Davey?? Is Alwyn Jnr Jnr highly rated too, or have I got the wrong Davey??
Itâs gonna bring a tear to the eye to see an Alwyn Davey back on our list if we draft him too! 2007 Alwyn Davey was something else!
They are both highly rated. But AJ has been playing more
Are we able to draft both if we want when the time comes? Assume our highest next pick does job for them each?
We can in theory go into deficit for, letâs say the 1st round in 2023 (this assumes both are bid on during the first round which according to Draft-watchers, isnât likely). Letâs say for argumentsâ sake, both are highly rated and go in the top 10, we would simply move back a residual points difference in the 1st round the next season if we couldnât make up the points using later picks in 2022.
I think it was @nackers that was raving about his set shot kicking after observations of summer training

Get there by 10:30 for the already EFC-listed combo of Gillard, Prespakis (the good one), Yassir, and Friswell â all named in the centre square.
EDIT: ooh! Player stats for the NAB League Girls in the app!
I for one welcome our new Misiti messiah
hitching myself straight to the front of this bandwagon
me too.
I think our problem is that too many of you bastards get on these bandwagons and they end up a load that is too â â â â â â â heavy to move
itâs at Highgate Reserve at 1pm.
Highgate reserve is almost singlehandedly responsible for me not watching the u18s any more. Fkg terrible place.
