I don’t see it happening. AFL surely wouldn’t just put him in there given all that’s gone on for starters.
What will be good for him however is this unexpected opportunity to be an assistant in an expanded role and get back into the AFL fold more.
Might open up to stay as assistant if Clarkson/Lyon/McVeigh (if succeeds as caretaker) got the job. Or another assistant role elsewhere for next year then as the offers would come.
Well as an expert in peanut statements I guess you’d know.
It’s ridiculous to base an opinion about how Hird would go as GWS coach on his performance with us. He only had a couple of years before the saga began, and it affected everything from then on. He didn’t really show much in those first couple of years, but a couple of years is not much of an opportunity to show much.
If he gets the Giants’ job, we’ll see what he’s capable of, although he now would have nothing like the list that Leon Cameron had when he was appointed.
The last couple of weeks are not a true indication of Hird’s ability to coach. Those losses were the result of the team having their hearts ripped out by the CAS. Earl days Hird had the team up and flying.
I just don’t know how it will go for him mentally. After the witch and the rest of the media ■■■■■■■■ made him out to be worse than hitler 90% of the AFL community will not be very happy to see him back and make it very very well known.
It’s a team run by the AFL. I’m surprised they even let Hird in the coaching group at all. Clarkson will get it and Hird will have to find another gig because I’m pretty sure Clarko doesn’t think much of Hird.
Clarko told a Hawk sponsor, who then told me, 100% we were cheats and Hird was the mastermind. I told him, if the AFL can’t prove it what the fark would Clarko know….we decided to leave it on the table after 10 minutes of fairly Intense discussion.
The problem for us is everyone has made their minds up for and against, and unless someone drops a bombshell, it is what it is.
For what its worth, I still believe it was a stitch up on so many levels….its beyond my understanding how it ever got to where it got to.
