i mean you can want hird back all you like, no hate on that part.
the reasoning sounds a bit off though. if you think we are the laughing stock now and lack pride, you don’t see people laughing at us with hird back in charge, and having a new wave of players constantly labelled drug cheats like their coach, which would make it harder to regain said pride.
I am not sure if serious, but I have heard worse ideas.
Scott, Rutten, knights and Worsfold spring to mind.
Choco is a genuine prick of a bloke, but he has a very good football mind and grew up in football royalty surrounded by almost constant success.
Is he still in the coaching headspace or purely the director type roles these days?
This is not going to happen. There’ll always be talk of a Hird comeback, particularly at times like these, but this is Jakovich trying to be edgy and relevant. I’d love to have Hird back someday, but his chance at coach is gone. He’s a smart fellow and a club legend; there must be a reconciliation someday. Maybe in a role he’s doing at PM, and even - yes - as president one day. I’d vote for that.

Was just playing on the fact that he had the most amount of unsuccessful senior coach applications of all time.
He was in the final two for like 5 or 6 jobs in a row.
But that was 20+ years ago.

Honestly I reckon he’s incapable of not being abrasive. I did some work with him when he was at Port and he is incessantly arrogant and abrupt.
It’s almost like a tic. Probably interviews terribly.

My ‘connections’ have told me there’s no ‘noise’ or pending coups at board level at this point. Outside Essendon people aren’t agitating at this stage. Apparently everyone is sticking fat and there’s no ructions from outside the club to create change. For me, that’s good news.
Of course that can change quickly but right now there’s nothing going on. So, it’s play on for the time being.
Don’t shout the messenger as ■■■■ would say.

Completely disagree.
We are half way through the birthing process of clearing a heap of dead wood (to mix my euphemisms) including Dodoro and some toxic players.
During Hird we were fully mired in ■■■■ and didn’t even realise it, even if we played some of the better footy of our banter era.
Well not quite nothing. Bomber nearly went to Prison on drug charges and Hird started a chocolate company.

Things couldn’t go much worse, and I specifically define “worse” with reference to the time period during which Hird was last coach.
