James Hird — Sept 25 onwards

It was partly tongue in cheek and out of frustration- people can post about whatever they like, but you must admit the Hird stuff is getting pretty old and tired….and yes, cults scare people.

….and why are the truthers so desperate for Hird and so quick to shut down anyone against it…seems to go both ways

Hope they use this pic with the headlines when he does take over

Part of me wants stability and the other part wants something to happen that puts a rocket :rocket: into the place.

Wasn’t Worsfold brought in for stability. We even had a transition coach after for the same reason. Success!

Worsfold was amazing

I’m not advocating for Hird at all but the weight of the WADA/CAS decision would have been too much for any coach to withstand. Players would have mentally been somewhere else.

I don’t care what he did during his playing career, that means nothing when it comes to being an actual coach. The majority of our younger guys would of been toddlers when he was playing back in the day

If he was that interested in coaching and had a real burning desire to do it, he would of gone to another club and been a proper assistant coach

But he hasn’t.yet he still wanted to walk back in and take the top job

If he wants to come back as an assistant coach, I’m all for it

But a head coach, nope. No way

I don’t think the greatest coach of all time could have held that team together.

I can’t think of any possible reason other than Hird’s coaching for 2015 to be a write off. No reason at all

Yeah so spike has coached 4 teams.

Giants academy (then assistant, then elevated to senior assistant so must have impressed internally).

Giants senior coach (team improved it’s forward and defence during that time, which was a bit over half a season).

Swans academy.

Allies under 18s (took them to their only championship in history).

That’s a pretty good resume of developing young talent, which is exactly where we are at currently and where I worry Brad will ruin a lot of it with his crazy team selections and positional changes all the time.

I specifically mentioned the asada issue in my post.

I’m sure it had an effect.

Regardless, the record is what it is and it would be a reckless board / interview panel who would just set it aside.

Of course it was ASADA related.

How many blood sacrifices have you made for the shrine of hird sal?

I thought that “playing coach” was implied in each of my posts, so I don’t feel the need to mention it specifically, but yes. Of course.

I’m not sure about that. Brad has a rather unhealthy looking sheen lately.

7 blood sacrifices.

Build a bridge.

Are you taking nominations?

And herein lies the root of the differing opinions on this topic.

Some people are hung up on processes and protocols that do not, have not and will not make a difference to our dysfunctional club.

Worsfold. Rutten. Knights. Scott. All results of a “process”. All abject failures. All absolute killers of any soul this club might still possess.

We need a ■■■■■■■ exorcism, not a coaching certificate or a four year apprenticeship under some box ticker who landed a job at a club who isn’t a ■■■■■■■ basket case.

I don’t give a ■■■■ what he’s been doing since he got farked over. Naked meditation atop Mt Kosciusko or a french MBA, chocolate distribution, GEMBA, a return to the early heady days of his ballet career.

This club needs to fix the gaping hole in it’s essence.

And I want James Hird deep in that hole.

Hird can coach. There is no doubt about that despite the nay sayers monotonously bleating he cannot..
He is in football now albeit in the VFL.

He also was an assistant at GWS and their players loved him, particularly their best one.
There are also several current AFL coaches who were not previous AFL level coaches before they were given top jobs.

You only have to listen to Hirdy analyse footy stuff to know he has what it takes and will be successful. He has now come out and stated that he wants to coach again. Give him a go.

He is in the same vintage as the current no hoper.

Even if he fails it will still be so much more enjoyable than the tripe we are getting dished up now.
