James Hird - survivor

That’s about the 3rd positive story about Hird in the past week. What’s going on? Have the “AFL influencers” decided that he’s paid his penance and he can now be brought back into the AFL world?

I was actually wondering that myself…

The vodcast was produced for AIA, msm picked it up, lots of click bait, free advertising for AIA, Hird doesn’t have to go through msm to get his point across.

Hirdy is a kind, compassionate and honourable person.
His family also seem to be driven by kindness and compassion. Good on them.
All these qualities I admire.
It is said peace of mind contributes to good health, but perhaps, in reality, it works both ways for Hirdy. His good health might just contribute to his peace of mind.
He deserves it.

Julian Burnside’s statement
In my 37 years at the bar I am yet to meet a more honorable and brave person than James Hird.

good chance

conditioning the public

I wonder if Caro, P Smith, Sarah, Fat Andy etc will take the time out of their very important lives to watch this.

Sadly, I think you already know the answer.

Watched the interview in full and it is gut wrenching to hear James describe his time at his lowest ebb. Brought a year to my eye.

For a man of such courage and conviction to be unable to physically respond to his environment when down and out… so, so sad.

What a terrible collection of names…brings back very bad memories.

Good to see the great man getting on with his life and looking well.

Love this guy-Captain of captains for our club. Literally Red and Black Royalty.

Those people mentioned are a disgrace and should be ashamed almost put a great person in his grave with the amount of negative bullshit articles they wrote everyday makes me fckin sick how he was treated by the media.

I hope JH is never invited to work for the AFL especially while Gillon is there.
I wouldn’t put anything past Gillon, he is a Master schemer.

Great to see Jim in a good place and moving forward. He showed the same courage during the saga that he exemplified on the field as one of the AFL’s greatest ever players.

As for Gil the Dill I have some advice. No matter how many times you wash your hands the stench of your involvement in the saga will never go away.

Not that he needed to however congratulations to the champion for opening up.
I have typically attempted to push all saga related stories to the past but it still angers me hearing Jim talk of how the board were going to sack him prior to the Freo game however the result saved him.
Spineless, indecisive, ■■■■■■.
Enough said.

That was a great interview, and really respect Hirdy for his candour and honesty.

People wont agree but I don’t really blame Gillion he was trying his damm hardest to give Hird and the footy club the lightest penalties possible imo.

Alex Demitrou is the one who was a scumbag imo

Oh no he wasn’t. Re read the saga threads and you’ll get all the info you need.
