Joe Daniher. Gone

The criticism he has copped is exactly why there’s no characters in the game

Can’t agree. There was no guarantee Walla would kick the goal, this was a massive game for us and he should have been ready for any eventuality.

If I was running the club he wouldn’t play again this year for that, if ever.

McKay Hipwood seems a lot of 200cm forwards can’t kick

You do realise he was up and at the goal line when Walla took the kick don’t you?

Wasn’t Joey on the goal line when Walla actually kicked the ball though?

I prefer him playing.

I know in your day playing and coaching was a thing johno.

Yep.

I like @Darli, but I’d rather her not waste unnecessary energy and focus it on our tackling drills and kicking to advantage.

LOL

pity he wasn’t born to be a professional AFL football player, considering that is his chosen profession.
but hey fits in with the whole club mantra of entertainment above substance.

thankfully your not running the club then

good grief

I’d much prefer he entertain me with goals than antics. That’s just me though.

His family lineage and his clear ability to play says otherwise.

Had he kicked those goals, not a single person here or in the media would be giving a two cents. They’d be praising him for his character and having a good old belly laugh about how great Joe is for the game and the club.

Vulture mentality.

I loved it. Tippa has a shot for goal, Joe knew that wasn’t coming back.

It was like refusing to line up when steph curry shoots free throws.

Great showmanship

I can’t work @Darli out.
Is she Maggie Thatcher tough but mean, Ita Buttrose corporate and connected, or Sally Field soft and cuddly?
Regardless, I feel a bit Kathy Bates scared posting this.

If 3 weeks ago someone said Joe Dan was going to come back and play two games in 5 days and get through unscathed we all would have taken that.

Talk about placing unrealistic expectations on someone.

If someone then said he’d be flying for marks and kicking 3.6 - we would have been ecstatic.

Oh it’s not the end of the world, I just don’t think he should be such a smartarse at this point

:joy:

LOL OK … I may have been a little harsh. I’ve no problem at all with Joes output for the last two games, it’s exceeded expectations, he looks fit and firing. The kicking at goal thing is annoying but I don’t know enough about how to fix it or even if it’s it’s fixable. None of this I have a problem with.

What I have a massive problem with is attitude. Would we accept the fence sitting from any other player on our list? I doubt it. It’s a culture thing and until we fix that we go nowhere.
