Joe Daniher. Gone

3-year deal sounds risky for all parties involved, unless it’s laden with performance clauses

It’s a thing of beauty that everyone in the league would agree, no matter what team you go for, JoeDan flying for a mark is one of the best sights in footy. This game was vintage Joe, marks, leads to the wing, massive 60 m passes that setup goals, 2 sealers, which makes it even more impressive

Huge grab.

Can improve. That was only taken at a high point, not the highest. Pissy little chest mark.

TIPPA and Joe probably arguing over who took the better “push your man away with brute strength then catch it on the fall”. Joe probably going to concede that one, but note that he set it up anyway.

3 years will work, we will win the next 2 premierships and then the third year we can rebuild and Joey can mentor our next superstar

I’m gonna be nervous every day that he’s an essendon player that I’ll open twitter and see the dreaded tweet that his groins have flared up.

I ain’t no doctor and the club would be in the best position to judge how likely this is from now on

If we could guarantee that he plays 95% of the next 3 seasons then pay him what he wants!

And Mclure went even more hard. Both have to eat humble pie

I was there. The only time Dad took me and my brother to Moorabbin. Neale was (still is) Dad’s favourite ever player, best he’s seen. I wish I could remember him play, but all we have are old videos now.

Nah I’d prefer him to eat a d1k… full blown flog

The reality is if he stays at the club and remains fit.
We are a big chance to play finals.
We get enough forward 50 entries, just needed a forward line.

Its not just his ability. He Waters doen the opposition tall backs so the other talls can capitalize.

l was also there. I would’t have missed it, l knew it was a piece of history to observe, one that was unlikely to ever be repeated. l grew up in the area the family home within 1 km of the ground. Early days anyone could wander into the ground for free at 3/4 time, which l sometimes did. When Essendon was playing l went down to the ground early, l had a prime position for this match. (l also had a prime position to witness the Carman headbutt on Carbury, it happened right in front of me, 5 mt from the fence.)

As for the game last night? Well it was as good a return game as l could have hoped for. Hollywood could hardly have scripted the return any better.

8 “really pleasings” in JoeDans latest interview. That’s gotta be some kind of a record.

I’d take the three year deal and back us to have got him right. Better than going through this will he stay or will he leave scenario every year. Joe makes us a better team.

Where they tatts on his thighs or just a sign for the docs indicating what location his groins should be in

Cue ASADA to add ink to the list.

Impressive to jump that high and make it a chest mark.

EDIT: will hurt your ears

If this guy doesn’t convince Joey to stay, nothing will (warning - may hurt the ears)

Great return to the team and to AFL.
Credit to all, especially the club, to stay focussed on a long term fix for a very difficult injury.
And the result was worth waiting for.
Very few players can grab a ball and roost it 60m through the goals from one step.
Had the 3 simple shots he missed been goals, he would be untradeable.
