I confess, I find the comment, and others like the alleged GWS one, very exciting.
But at the same time they do remind me of a certain coach who looked at the draw once and couldn’t see a loss anywhere.
So, tempered excitement.
Geez I want us to be good.
Not…sort of okay, competitive, sometimes…
Genuinely good.
It’s been so long.

For those of us who were smashing down celebratory cans after (during) the game, what was said here?

Still not sold mate?? I reckon he’s been good on Game day so far, made some good moves again this week, and handled the group well at breaks, particularly at 3/4 time.
Very level, and tempered, … the contrast between him & Fagan they showed in the game wrap up was really telling I thought, being both are of similar age / experience.

Don’t pay much mind to the other stuff, but he does handle the flogs well.

An Essendon coach?

Srsly?
No.

To be fair, he’s caught in a cul de sac

Not going to knock a winning formula.
Eight(?) unanswered goals is a worry.
But we arrested it, eventually.
Other teams may not give us that luxury.

Challenged the midfield to respond at 3/4 time. Refused tp panic when the momentum had shifted against us. Instead, he placed his faith in the players to lift and they responded. Top coaching

I don’t think it was quite that bad. 2 before half time and the first three after with a few more to keep outscoring us later on in the quarter.

Woosha.

5 unanswered.

On the positive, Essendon of previous years would have lost by 60.

You’re right.
Five unanswered.
Then two goals to four before we broke away again.
We went half an hour without kicking a goal.

As to how bad that is, I guess it depends on how good Brisbane are.

2-0 and you’re having a whinge about about an opposition insurrection that was put down with reasonable ease, at their home ground, with a rookie upgraded ruck not to mention several blokes who’ve hardly played a game since 2015? Farking please…

I guess you see it as your job to focus on the negatives?

A few weeks ago during the JLT we were predicting some tough times but that Woosha at least deserved a bit of time… but it was clear he hadn’t done anything great at that point in time.

Since then we have played an exciting brand of football and won 2 from 2. It certainly hasn’t been 8 quarters of perfect football, but he has managed to get a decent percentage and 2 wins.

I’m not sure what your pass mark is for the season, but at this stage i think 8 points pretty good.

Not really.
I don’t think your assessment is any more negative than mine.

Oh, and hi, Cult of Woosha, hi!

C’mon Wim, you made the call he wasn’t the right coach for us, or might not be any good, pointed out we lost the practice matches, and since then we have won when it counted.
I’m not suggesting you line up to tongue his nuts just yet, but surely you’ve seen some good signs?
You point out they kicked 5 in a row but ignore the 8 in a row we kicked?
Keep on trollin’

sigh
No, I’m not gobbling like some.

And just because I didn’t mention our eight in a row doesn’t mean I’m not aware of it, or think it’s awesome.
Of course I’ve seen good signs!
I’ve seen troubling ones, too, but I’m confident these can be overcome quite quickly.

Just discussing the game.
It’s disappointing, really.
It’s like if I mention that Tippa falls over then I hate him.
It’s just nonsense, but since discussion is obviously not possibly in this thread, I’ll do my best to stop.
