Jumper numbers for 2022

Number allocation to me this year seems lazy.
No upgrades at all, Davey’s two numbers apart, Weideman 10 and two revered numbers 5 and 18 given to kids.

Just seems boring and not much thought gone into it.

Martin might stay with 37 as the lucky number he caught his break in

Besides, it was a good enough number for Adam Goodes to play 372 games in

Not really. It’s been a non-descript number for a while. Can’t remember a real great/champion player to wear it at EFC. Given Cutler wore it Setterfield gives of similar vibes. Player from another club, squad/depth player. Showing my age but when I think of #12 for Essendon it’s still Michael Symons!

It’s ok, we’ll have 18% off in the Bomber Shop to fix it.

I used to like
Ruckman in 27
Gun Player 5
indigenous talent in 13
inside mid in 24
Full forward in 18

Has sort of changed to best players 1-10, less love to the higher numbers, like that Tippa stuck with 43.
Heppell has made 21 his own, I used to think of Dean Wallis

Also would like young players to “earn” a low number

I have no problem with Weid with 10.

He needs some boots to step up into.

Same with Hayes at 18

Stephen Clark( may he rest in peace) wore the number 12 with distinction

When did Goodes play for the Bombers ?

I say it every year, but who cares. They’re just numbers.

Martin may already be the best 37 we have ever had.

lets hope he ends up turning it iconic

Alternatively, maybe the right amount of thought went into it and you are just putting way too much thought into it?

That time all the Swans supporters booed him

Next you’ll be saying that footy is just a game.

Two number 10s?

Selfishly I was hoping Martin kept wearing long sleeves and swapped to number 5.

I love that Munkara has 45. Locker right next to Walla.

I wonder if Tsatas will accept a petition to wear long sleeves.

Would’ve loved if Perkin’s got 5

Over the course of our 150 years #10 is probably the most famous given the litany of champions that have worn it (Coleman, Bluey Shelton, Noonan, Foulds, O’Donnell), but for me because of TD and Hirdy the #5 is the one that is a number that needs to be worn by a champion calibre player. I really hope Tsatas ends up being in that echelon of player for us.
