Dean Wallis still the best number 21 for us. Stood up in grand finals and thatās all that matters.

The idea of young players āearningā low numbers is a Clarko idea, followed by Dimma, and tongues balls.
I like the way theyāve gone recently, allowing players to climb up the list and imports to have a choice of free numbers, then allocating in draft order.
The Daveys could have had 32 and 33, but taking Uncle Aaronās 36 is nice too.

Iād have preferred Weideman to start off on any other number but 10. Not saying it had anything to do with Franga not making it but its an iconic number going back. Boots to full and all that ā¦ wouldāve left it blank for this season and said to Sam ā¦ if you want that one its yours if you can make it.
It sort of does matter to a club who fills those iconic numbers. Hopes are raised etc. Tsatas with #5 seems fine though ā¦ heās got something special for mine.
Nothing wrong with high numbers is all Iām saying. Not every great player has to wear a famous number, some can make the number their own
