When we gave up that Cunnington goal it was as obvious as clear day that they would win the next contest out the middle and score 2 in a row. We seem to do it often and I was really annoyed at how easily they strolled out of the centre at times again today.

Unfortunately I don’t think Setterfield is the solution, but may paper over it.
I’d rather see how Hobbs, Tsatas, Parish, Caldwell and one other who perhaps doesn’t play for us yet go. I’d have Merrett playing more forward half, I reckon he would be deadly.
Apart from the poor shot at goal Hep was ■■■■■■■ massive in the last 3-4 mins.

yep ironically if we had of beat west coast last year, they’d be 8 wins last year.
if they had of got to play them 4 times in the year, that would take us up to 10 wins for the year.
and an extra game, uh oh … that’s almost the same amount of wins as the bestest super duper most awesomest coach ever in brad scott has produced.
and then rutten would have won 10 more games than scott has won this year, with swoodleys logic and perception skills as well as maths skills

Well I’m glad we won so the loss didn’t kill the vibe of the Matilda’s game. If we win both it will still be a great day.

I’m not 100% doom and gloom about the future, I think we can work ourselves forward if we’re smart. But we need a lot of work. Scott needs to spend a lot of time on the art of tackling, far to many times they broke tackles with 2 MEN trying…
Lose Parish to FA. Is there a big gap between Parish getting 33 disposals or having no Parish, but Caldwell getting 30 disposals but ALSO having pick 9? Get picks 8 and 9 (tbc) depending on where we finish, take that to the draft.
Work a more reliable, contested midfield with Caldwell in hard, Hobbs, Tsatas, Merrett and Martin. That’s acceptable. Hopefully Durham and Davey can add pace to the wings.
We need more forward pressure because it stinks, bad. Munkara isn’t ready, but he’s the perfect player that we need right now. Davey to come in when fit next year to bring some pressure. We just need more forwards that CHASE, APPLY PRESSURE and are dangerous at ground level. Watching WC and North whisk easy ball out is pathetic. Hell even Tippa would be an improvement right now.
Snelling, Guelfi & Kelly loaded into the much beloved CANNON. Heppell gracefully asked to retire against Collingwood, with Cox told to take his spot (yes it’s a downgrade but a long term decision.) Give Voss a try ffs.
Can we use 8 and 9 to get to pick 2 to get Nick Watson? If so, do that. If not, draft the best tall forward and then draft the best small/medium forward that can kick goals and isn’t slow. Then you draft good kickers with the rest. Then with a rookie pick, draft a mature age ruck to cover for Draper/Bryan. Some 26 year old big body.
Baldwin can replace Laverde. He can defend just as well if not better, but his kicking is delicious. Leave McKay alone. Ridley, Zerk and Baldwin should do the job if our midfield can defend.
Then you teach everyone how to tackle. Then teach them again. Then show them the Larkey goal and show them another time.
Then kidnap Wrights significant family member and tell him he won’t see them again unless he crashes a pack every time and not wet lettuce leaf it.

The best possible result (which isn’t totally out of the question either) is us winning one of our last two games and just missing the finals - either by a game or percentage.
No delusions of grandeur that we are suddenly ‘closer’ to success than the reality of the situation and some ammunition for next season.
