Kanga Kanga Kanga - review thread R22 2023

Has been for most of the year. You can’t just selectively pick.

Totally

Smh

How about 50% of the team that played last week v Eagles, didn’t play the final under Truck ?

We have injuries and we are playing the two worst teams in the history of football. The vast majority of the year this hasn’t been the case.

I’d be very interested to see our points conceded from stoppages with and without setterfield. It’s been a good development opportunity for Perkins who has shown promise but I don’t think it will ever be his best position.

As for the forward line, we desperate for a natural crumber with pace who knows how to time his runs for a front and square and read it off hands. Guelfi has some good traits but he’s hopeless at that.

A fit tippa or the like would have made a huge difference to our forward line this year. I dare say it would have been worth two more wins

Everyone is assuming this nic Martin was back on the wing this weekend just coz he had 32 disposals.

From what I saw he was still mainly half forward?

The commentary for the first half certainly was talking about him playing in the forward line.

Okay good.

Glad that experiment is done then.

However first bounce he was definitely half forward.

Maybe half forward that pushes up?

Out of 483 games available to be played by Essendon in 2023 up to round 21, only 56% of those games can be attributed to players who lost the Truck Final in 2021.

I actually think that’s his best role because it gives him licence to be less structured and more instinctive with his running patterns. I think his best games this year have come from being the half forward who is pushed up to the midfield
