Kayo sports

thats cheaper than my $25 monthly subscription if i kept it the whole year, only use it for footy though.

Brisbane do a similar deal too.

Offer second priority access to a grand final ticket,

Both Brisbane and GWS were really a bees ■■■■ away from winning or playing in a grand final last year

For 250 dollars for the year.

No brainer

Yes. And gives you 2 streams and (in theory) 4K resolution (from March) instead of 1 stream at HD.

It added it for me. I only did it a few days before the renewal, but it went from the monthly date to next year, once applied.

Yeah I would wait. My membership only had one day to go when I got the code.
I cancelled the subscription via Kayo, but still couldn’t add the code. It wasn’t until I cancelled with Telstra that I could add the code. If I didn’t cancel with Telstra they would have bumped me onto the new $35mth.

Got a message for this, offer expires on March 14

If I have an EFC membership, can I get KAYO for $25pm?

The Brisbane deal does not alllow access to finals if you’re based in Qld or Vic.

The GWS deal doesnt appear to have that restriction and is subject to the Giants competing, which makes sense.

Thats good for those of us in TAS. Makes sense given Fitzroy supporters.

would rather support Lions than GWS, and they are potentially a better chance for the grand final.

Hadn’t watched Kayo for a fair while. Noticed the quality of the practice matches was a bit rubbish, figured it was just because they weren’t the usual setup

Nope, apparently the Kayo App on my NVIDIA shield 4k now only shows at 960x540 with no option to change it. Definitely used to work.

No issues streaming via PC or the built-in app on the TV though.

with the mythical 4k they’;re supposedly bring thats a bit disappointing

Looking around it seems they cooked the 4k rollout and screwed up the Kayo app on a bunch of devices.

Managed to “kind of” fix it on the shield. Now it shows at 720p with a 4k " viewport" whatever the ■■■■ that means.

Looks far worse than just 1080p via other devices/apps though

Its just a free potentia swing at buying a GF ticket.

Pretty good perk

viewport has nothing to do with the stream quality, it’s just the size of the display area - so that means a 720p stream is being stretched to fit a 4K area which is why it looks junk, not sure why the Shield has issues

(edit: the Shield apparently runs on an older version of Android TV which doesn’t support native frame rate matching)

generally speaking, you cannot stream 4K anything on PCs through a browser - but kayo especially is hot trash

Yeah they had massive issues with the 4k rollout update, seems to be affecting quite a few devices, some have apparently been rolled back. Lots of complaints on whirlpool/etc.

Probably just have to go back to the apple tv till they sort their ■■■■ out. LG Kayo app works ok but doesn’t do splitview.

Never really had an issue with Kayo via browser, but normally only have it on a 2nd screen anyway.

As far as browsers, edge does 4K Netflix but yeah pretty limited outside of that.
Everything outside of sport I just do via Plex now anyway

todays game in 4k?

if anyone wants to see which games they’re not totally fleeced on.

Oh no, I’m going to do it, aren’t I…(subscribe to kayo again) ■■■■■ sake

Kayo 4K seems to be working fine on both my built in LG app, and on the Google Chromecast with Google TV 4K, which is one of my favourite devices to run all apps smoothly. It’s pretty quick for a very compact device. The remote is also very responsive, and just feels good to use compared with many others.

the issue is ■■■■ all content is on 4k and they dropped the number of simultaneous screens, hope the consultant that suggested it gets a bad batch
