Kids Go Free (Rounds 16-19)

I do not need anyone to look after me. When I decide, it will end.

I do not care about kids at the footy, better than the abusive morons who just slag their own team. But I do care about the mindless games and the crap stuffed into their mouths that their parents just let happen. Why would you take two small daughters to the footy, who sit and play electronic games eating crap food while you swill beer and scream abuse, forgetting they are even there.

Nope, that is not my issue with kids at footy. It is when they clearly do not want to be there and sit bugged eyed into some electronic device while the parent acts like a tosser.

In fact, we have had the same seats at Marvel for about twenty years. I recall the young man in the row in front of us who would bring his small boys and friends to watch the Bombers. All decked out and passionate fans. Now these boys are grown up and they have their kids with them and granddad. They follow the game, their Dads talk to them about footy and players. They do eat footy crap but it is part of the process. Bet they have a great family full of love and life.

Sounds like a good day for all.

Should never be opposition fans in clubs high tier areas.

Ridiculous that organisations can set when a kid becomes a adult. 14 and under give me a spell.

Why not? If I “own” the seat for the event, and under the rules it is transferable (unlike AFL membership) then I can sell it to whoever I want.

Buy your kids full price tickets in protest.

Good post. Kids are the next generation and future on our footy club. I hope they fill the stands and have a ball. It’s fantastic.

My kids show constant cynicism. Must get it from their mother!

We ban electronic devices outside the house. My kids watch the footy/cricket/tennis etc. They get one treat, the rest is home made food.

Heff10 loves a bit of banter. I blame MrHeff for his outrageous comments.

We have 6 grandkids. Two of them, our daughters children never talk to us apart from hello and goodbye as their heads are always buried in their phones and iPads. Been this way since they were 3, now they are 15 and 13, and it is still the same. Our daughter used iPad as a baby-sitter.

The other four actually have good discussions with us, so I am convinced it is not me.

It could have something to do with the daughter kids being Lions supporters like their Dad. Everyone else in all families are Bomber supporters. Guess Lions supporters are just mindless.

And my kids will still probably want to stay home. :pensive:
