Let’s just admit - we are sh*t

Yeah, a bit of both I reckon. But the Fremantle, Sydney and North games there was some really good stuff, which I think gets forgotten because of the poor finishes…

How to spot terminators :skull:

Not the first time the club thought that getting smashed in the first round of finals, was a sign that success was on the way.

We are about par for where we should be with injuries to our most important players, which if you took equivalent out of other teams would / have seen the same at the pies.

I think we underrate the importance of Hepp not just as captain, but his contested ball winning ability and tenacity around the ground for 4 qtrs

Then we have JoeDan, who should be kicking 60 goals for us

Then we have Stringer, who is one of the most exciting and impactful players in the league and unstoppable when gets going.

Then we have Hooker, who has won us multiple games down back and forward

Then you take out Ambrose, who is our best shutdown defender

Think taking

Oliver
Petracca
Gawn
May

from Melbourne

or pies

Howe
Sidebottom
Pendlebury
Grundy

Even two of those 4 out and collingwood put up worse than us.

Timing and Luck.

Hawthorn doesn’t happen if Clarkson’s coaching career doesn’t coincide with Lewis, Roughhead, Mitchell, Hodge, Franklin and Cyril. Not saying it was easy, but definitely easier to have the talent there than not. From that base a dynasty can be built.

I just think most of it comes back to Daniher being broken. That was a chance to get out of the mire and it is probably gone.

McGrath’s not a generational talent but he’s a bloody good player - but you could split those three picks: McGrath McLuggage and Taranto. I don’t think there wasn’t an absolute standout we should have got our hands on.

Hard to rebuild in a covid football economy, especially when this year’s draft is so compromised. May take even longer.

well at least we’ll be used to it.

God he (Kane Cornes) is just dumb.

Acting like we are relying on Bellchambers, Zaharakis, hooker each week. Every single team has players over 30 thankfully ours aren’t our best players.

Then calling Heppell old as at 2021. Clearly clutching at straws when you add Heppell to that list.

Saying we need a ruck when we’ve clearly invested in Draper and then draft Bryan also last year.

Not to mention all of our current injuries are a big reason for our current form.

This is a very difficult time for me.

I’m so ■■■■■■ about how Essendon has been playing…but now I’m being teased with Stringer and Daniher returning.
