Lets Go Surfin' Now , Everybody's Learnin' How ......... C'mon A Safari With The Bombers!

I’m just getting into surfing again after giving it a go 20 years ago. Me and my 8 year old had some lessons at Rainbow Bay/snapper rocks about 6 weeks ago while on holiday. My son is hooked and was up straight away. I took a few goes but got up and loved it. We came back and next 2 weekends went to Smith’s beach Phillip island. We just spent last week at Torquay and after helping my son catch his waves first couple of days he was catching his own so I could start having a good go myself. By the last day I was catching some good waves. Bloody love it. I’m booking in at Urban Surf for a 5 week surf progression and go from there. We both got brand new 4/3 wetsuits and spent 2-3 hours a day in the water and we were never cold. It’s great to have a sport we can both do together.:love_you_gesture:

We are staying at Coolangatta at the moment. The surf is not the best but down near Snapper Rocks was ok for us amateurs today and we were able to catch a few descent waves. There were some pretty big fish jumping out of the water right near us. The water is that clear and while riding the waves and looking into the water could see schools of what looked like kingfish in between the banks. I’m not going to lie when I saw 2 fins above 30 metres from us in the water it did catch my attention. Lucky they were only dolphin’s.lol.

Surfing in this windy weather? You’d have to be joking.

Many blitzers frequent Urbn Surf these days?

I went once before winter hit. I will be looking to go a bit more but I have been very busy and haven’t had the time.
