All our effort for the rest of the year should be about preparing our list for next year. If we can use the players we know we can keep next year:

Lueny, Langford, Parish
F: Walla, JD, Laverde
Hams, Brown, Fantasia
Int from: Dempsey, McKernan, Long, Redman, Eades, Morgan, Jerrett, Ashby, Gwilt, Cooney, Edwards, Kommer
This is the 30 available or potentially available non top up players. And not forgetting Bags, Wallis or Gach.
Last night we were very competitive with Kelly, Dea and Michael, if we can replace them with Zaka, Leuny and Francis, we have the potential to be a better side without any top ups.
In addition to those three, Long is another potential player to come in now (we can we promote him for Bags), with Redman a possibility. Eades and Morgan still have to earn a place, but there is still time, the others who have all played should also be considered if they are close, I agree with the Shaw plan, the top ups should become coaches or emergencies and in the case of Dea and maybe Kelly, put on ice if they want them for next year.
We need to know who can contribute to next year, and if we can be a competitive lower half of the ladder team with no top ups, add another 10 to 12 of the suspended players and up to another half dozen or so recruits, this side can start building towards a top 4 outfit in 2017 with a hell of a lot of depth which we have lacked in previous years (contributing to our fade outs).
Add a decent forward and goal kicking coach and we are set.
We just need the returning players to settle back into playing, integrating again into the team structure and game style (and not to mention earn their spots). Hopefully we can evolve from a mid table team at the beginning of 2017 to a top team by the end.
