I suspect both Sydney and Geelong will get their backside into gear at some stage and push for finals.
I also suspect we’ll hit a bit of a slump (edit: not a we just lost despite having a crack against good teams slump, a genuine we look to be struggling a bit slump) and drop a few games.

10-12th finish I reckon, but with plenty of positives from 2023.

I think it’s a win/win.

We finish 9th-11th? Probably about right. No delusions of grandeur heading into 2024 thinking it will just happen again. Plenty to work on but the signs are there.

Make the finals? Great achievement after the disaster of 2022. You’ve got to be in it to win it.

Run for the last 4 spots is way too tight to say we are a likely lock.

I think we are a 20% chance. There are better teams below us at the moment.

The fixture difficulty for the second part of the year has -

  • Port
  • Geelong
  • Lions
  • Freo
  • Carlton

With the most difficult draw.

We have the easiest, followed by Saints and Doggies. Crows not too far behind.

Makes an interesting run home.

I would agree.
Its an Infringement on my yearly ‘Road to the Finals’ thread normally started straight after the Byes.

My version is better, of course, as it incorporates discussion on ALL spots in the Top 8.
