The issue with your post, as I pointed out in my first reply, is that it removes the context in which Noonan posted his comment i.e. a comparison of Cutler to the other players on that list. The reason I went further and attempted to “defend” them playing wing was simply to demonstrate that in the context of playing wing at AFL level McGrath and Shiel have both performed better in the past than anything I’d expect from Cutler (admittedly, not the highest bar).
Ideally, would I play McGrath or Shiel on wing? No.
If the choice was between McGrath, Shiel and Cutler, would I play McGrath or Shiel on the wing ahead of Cutler? Yes.

Perhaps the best way to encapsulate this team is to acknowledge that they have finally come through their self-inflicted crisis and appear to be arrow up.
That’s what stood out for me too. Writing was on the wall for him in 7 storey high letters after we took Hobbs I guess. Hope he does well wherever he goes. We’d have been a lot better side over the past few years if everyone on the list had his work ethic.
Why St Kilda delisted Dunstan if they saw a need for Clarke, I have no idea. But that’s their problem.
I found it interesting about Cahill and Johnson being signed to VFL lists already. I’m not surprised on Cahill. But Johnson didn’t show that much at VFL level.
