List build - where are we going in the next 10,000 posts?

We need speed, skills and players who win one v one contests.

I would love one more key forward who plays the role as 2nd nature. But i agree that we desperately need the small forward brigade that the tops teams clearly have.

Off the back of winning the Norm Goss I reckon his odds of being drafted have shortened. So excited for him and his family. Please be us who pulls the trigger.

Menzie is contracted. Disagree with the call to keep Goldy but if you tilt your head and squint you can kinda see the merit in it.

Let’s see how the rest of the off season plays out. Who we trade, who we cull and who we prioritise is huge. Like you, I’m worried we’re gonna ā– ā– ā– ā–  it up.

Sure, but it got signed (or at least announced) a couple of months ago after he’d been dropped to the VFL. It can’t really be written off as a relic of a different era.

The westozziebomber is being mischievous again

Not sure about 2 years but my understanding was that he was offered an extension by the club

As I said in the Jaiden Davey thread.

There is a clear List focus, of keeping players who are 110% committed on the training track and highly professional during the week.

Brad Scott has been very clear about this, regarding improving the culture and standards.

This is probably what has bought Kelly, Weideman & Menzie extensions…… and likely why there’s appetite to trade Stringer.

Honestly, a team full of highly motivated professionals who can’t play football doesn’t sound like much of an improvement.

I’m assuming this is all about providing an environment for young players walking into the club for the first time, about what the standards are…… how to be professional during the week.

Is there anyone next year that can make the Durham / Caldwell jump?

Nothing wrong with these attributes, but the trouble is the likes of Menzie, Kelly, Weidemann are crap footballers.

I agree.
I’m just saying what I believe the club’s focus is.

There are lots of candidates - but whether they jump or squat is another thing: tried to break the current list into groups.

Potential to Jump:

  • Hobbs
  • Perko
  • Cox
  • Bryan
  • Jones
You have the mid-tier who can either recapture or take the next step like…
  • Redman
  • Langers
  • McG
  • Dursma
  • Mackay
  • Stringer??? (not sure if he will be there)
  • Shiel??? (not sure if he will be there)
  • 2MP
  • Sammy D
  • Guelfi
  • Gresham
  • Setters (not sure if he will be there)
    Young and Developing:
  • Caddy
  • Roberts
  • Reid
  • Tsatas
  • Davey’s
  • Hayes
  • Saad
No expectation - Happy if one of them surprise us with something
  • Vigo
  • Lual
Bad decision - and we will need to cop it for another year:
  • Menzie
  • Weirdman (not sure if he will be there)
  • Gold Member

Reliable:

  • Zerret
  • Parish
  • Caldwell
  • Duzza
  • Ridley

To call Parish or Ridley reliable is a bit of a stretch

The Potential to Jump list is the height of optimism.

You can rely on them to get injured and ā– ā– ā– ā–  up half a season each year though.

Exactly right

Reliably injured fits the bill for the past few years.

Our players are all reliable. Just not in a good way.
